It might be connected with the strange goings on around here : Our car stolen, with $4000 of damage; Our neighbour's healthy rabbit dying unexpectedly; Our neighbour's letterbox being destroyed; Curious spam emails about las vegas; The odd curious phone call; Faeces being smeared on our church Car windows smashed and things taken at church - they now have patrols as a result Breakin at church and organ damaged. You can say that again...
Sorry about the car! Hot bath in Epsom salts, if you can manage. Would you like me to send you some Mexican charismatic music? It’s very helpful, and I know you understand Spanish!
(Rosaries at the dentist count extra! I’d rather have a baby than have my teeth cleaned. You can’t do labor breathing while they’re scraping your gumline.)
But, you can practice not-swallowing, and where else is it socially approved to "spit"?
Makes me feel like the Outlaw Josey Wales.
Thank you for my first lol of the day.
Thank you and your iPad.
IBTKP.
Good morning, y’all!
Good morning. 28 here, supposed to be 60 later.
Kinda like the blind leading the gimp, eh?
LOL!
I have another pair of glasses, but they don’t fit well, are not sun-sensitive and are the wrong prescription for my eyes now. Ohwell.
We’re both alive! :o])
The bow was weak just above the earpiece and as a result, it was difficult to make them stay on without further adjustment. When I took the clip-ons off, the left lens popped out and the bow tweaked. When I went to straighten the bow, the earpiece came off in my hand. Hard to find your other pair when you’re as myopic as Magoo
I understand.
We {all of us who are near-sighted), identify with William Windom. “It’s not fair!”
Ah....the kitteh healer!
I feel better already...
Yah. I can still hear his voice! LOL!
If your Walmart has an optician department, they might put them together for you again, if they’re not busy. They will at our store, even if the glasses came from somewhere else.
I need to give Kathleen a bath before our visit to Dr. Something-Polish later. I don’t want her to smell like milk dribbles for all the people who want to hold her.
The Walmart store has an optical department, but the frame is beyond repair. I got the glasses in ‘99, and they have done more than I ever expected.
Since I don’t have vision insurance, I just have to make do with what I have. The last lenses I got were put into an old frame because I couldn’t afford new ones. The lenses were $278 at Walmart. (Astigmatism in both eyes in opposite directions) They are the no-line tri-focals, so any way you look at it (no pun intended!) glasses for me are not cheap.
(20/6.50 left, and 20/7.25 right.)
(The last lenses were in 2006, and my vision has changed again because of cataracts.)
Can you get the lenses put into new frames? My mother has done that at least once, when the frames were worn out but the prescription hadn’t changed. It wouldn’t be as good as a whole new set, but it would be better than nothing.
This time around, I need totally new glasses...lenses as well as frames. One of the reasons they are so expensive is because they have to be made of really lightweight plastic to handle the thickness of the prescription. And these lenses, besides being the wrong prescription, are too large for todays frames, so they cant be reground to fit something smaller.
I will check around, though and see if I can find something cheaper than my last ones. (I hate this.)
Walp. I lied. I DO have insurance of a sort.
$30 co-pay for the exam, plus 40% for both the lenses and the frames. *groan* I’m still looking at close to $200.
(Unless I have to see an opthamologist.)
Well, that’s not as bad. I’ll send you something for the exam, and then you can start shopping around for the best price on the glasses. Since I’m giving up wine and pretzels for Lent, I’ll have some extra to spend ;-).
Back from Dr. Something-Polish. He says I’m fine, which I knew. I ran into some people I know from election work; their son is mayor of Hemby Bridge, the town with the Food Lion. Nice folks, six adopted children. The mayor is in his 40s, and their youngest is 5!
I have to get everything done at LensCrafters, or nothing is covered.
*sigh*
When busdaddy got his new glasses, he checked at LensCrafters, and I saw some cute frames (for me) for $78. I didn’t think that was a bad price, but of course, that was six months ago or more, and I didn’t need glasses then.
(Being held hostage by finances is embarrassing, humiliating and just plain ugly.)
