Mafia ? (Il zotto di pazzo)

Posted on 02/01/2012 3:44:24 PM PST by chrismac

It might be connected with the strange goings on around here : Our car stolen, with $4000 of damage; Our neighbour's healthy rabbit dying unexpectedly; Our neighbour's letterbox being destroyed; Curious spam emails about las vegas; The odd curious phone call; Faeces being smeared on our church Car windows smashed and things taken at church - they now have patrols as a result Breakin at church and organ damaged. Mysterious deaths of stars, such as Heath Ledger, Brittany and her husband, Michael Jackson, David Carradine, and others : http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2010/05/24/what-killed-brittanys- husband.html http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/31103217/ns/today-entertainment/t/david- carradine-found-dead-thailand-hotel/

Connect the dots if you dare, to see the truth.

Have BoA and the CU perform an audit for the last five to ten years, You may be surprised at the outcome.

In the meantime, I are going to bed!

XOXO to both of you!

My son, however, got his first pair at 2-1/2 years. And he was so cute in them!

Indeed!

Hey, Fan. I managed to go out to work a little today, see my therapist and go chow down on pancakes at the annual Shrove Tuesday Supper sponsored by the Anglican Church Women and enthusiastically presided over by our splendid men - chefs extraordinaire. Blueberries were plentiful this time, as were the apple ones. Of course, there were some plain buttermilk ones as well. I found butter and the ‘real’ maple syrup... yum! Tummy and spirit are fed - time for the Lenten discipline. I am aiming to tame my mouth. I have had a short fuse lately (I wonder why) and I know it doesn’t please God that I curse at the drop of a hat. That is going to die in me - with help from the Almighty and my FRiends.

Thanks for your loving support and prayers. The trip down the gravel cul de sac has left its marks and the toughest ones are the bruises. Stiffness and soreness will take a while. I don’t recommend soaking in epsom salt when you have open wounds. Yikes!

I’ve been a little abrupt lately, myself. One of my plans for Lent is to read the Letter of James each day, in hope that it will “take.”

Up early with Kathleen - her nose was stuffed up so she couldn’t breathe. I think she’s fine now, for a while. Mass today, baby’s checkup at the doctor, library visit ... and for real penance, putting $3.75/gal gas in the van.

The cats across the street were on their roof yesterday afternoon. Jake and Shannon sat in our window looking contemptuous and envious!

“Greetings, gentlemen.”
“Sigma” at least someone was paying attention
“Yes, that is my command identifier. I was Matthew Soames, commander of Bradamante, SBB-1. And I saved your worthless hides from the silicon bugs.”
He walked to his old seat and pushed the person in it out.
“You're in my seat, move. I am still a council member, and I still have a vote. I also can still call procedural meetings.” he punched in his old code at the terminal, and was awarded with the green screen telling him he was in.
“Pretty brazen there, how did you know it still worked?” the council was playing for time.
“Because, it did. I won't bore you with explanations. Now, about the rabbitoids. I'm willing to take them all off your hands. You, yes you. You were just saying what trouble they were?” Sigma pointed his cannon at a shivering shape that squeaked and backed away from him.
“We cannot release them to you.”
“Why not?” Sigma was looking somewhat distant, as if looking at something that they couldn't see.
“We're of the opinion that the rabbits aren't sentient, that they merely obey and follow instructions.” Said one of the adjudicators in the council chamber.
“Yes, and now that you are here, it would seem that they are following you. Without you, they would stop and mill about.”
Sigma turned towards his old seat in the chamber, his left hand was working at something in an equipment pouch on his armor.
“Well, we'll just see,” his hand came up into view it held some device with a prominent button, “about..”
The room panicked.
“Stop him!” shots criss crossed the room as security attempted to enter the room again.
“THAT.” the button was pushed.

Bradamante, holographically represented on her own bridge, snapped her ‘head’ around to look towards the station.
“What?!” a program that had been shielded from her attention began to run, calculate, and target something.
She looked it over and then deduced the purpose of the program.
“No! No! No! No! No!” She tried to cut off the program, and found she could only slow it down.
“Mage’s Hand, please come in. Get an immediate lock on Sigma and pull him out of there. PLEASE!”
“Bradamante, what's going on?”
“He's taking the building down with him in it!”
“Teleporter offline” The overhead announcer informed Bradamante of her inability to transport anything for the time being.
“Somebody, anybody, save him!”
“Drop the building Braddy.” a recorded command from Sigma.

“What's that?” Matthew heard part of the exchange and then gave out a rabbitoid curse that sounded like a squeak.
His group began to push towards the council chambers with a fury unmatched by any in their path.
They reached the entry to the main byway, west side of the central void.
“Where is he in there?” the question was answered by weaponfire bursting through the wall of the fourth floor of one building.

Bradamante fought the commands, fought the program, but it was a losing proposition.
“But I'm a free AI! You can't do this!”
“Braddy, drop the building.”
“I need you. We all do.” Bradamante was in tears, simulated, but real enough to her.
The program completed, the teleFRAG targeted the building supports, and began to fire.

Sigma wondered how long Bradamante could hold off the program as he rolled over the low wall at the foot of the council chamber.
He was slightly wounded, but he was giving as good as he got.
Then, he felt the distinct sensation of a close aboard teleFRAG shot.
The floor vibrated as the first floor supports became a quark gluon plasma.
He stood up, shouldered his weapon, and began to laugh.
Rapidly, the supports of the next several floors vanished in the same fashion.
A short burst of light through the ceiling hole told him that the final stage began.

Matthew and his group were on their way towards the building when they saw the holes appear in the walls, forcing them to hide from shrapnel.
It was all over in seconds, the building sectioned up, and then a sequential burst pushed the roof slab downward like a piledriver.

Sigma, in freefall, saluted the council.
“Now they aren't following me!”
The building slammed down with a thud of finality, dust, smoke, and debris flung everywhere.

The rabbitoids stepped out of hiding to survey the scene.
“Matthew, grandfather had a way out.. didn't he? He always has a way out, right” Devon was shaken up.
“Mage’s Hand, please tell me you have him.”
“Negative Matthew. Bradamante?”
Dead silence from Bradamante told them all they needed.

Epilogue
Dreams Return to Shadow

The fleet was dispersing, the battles were over for now.
The council had been decapitated, the Director was dead.
The wounded were being tended, the dead were being mourned.
The missing?
There were many unanswered questions.

Roger would get used to being a rabbit, at least until Evalynn came up with a way to fix the damage to his normal self.
The stubborn jerk, thought Matthew.
Crunch was in critical care, he was one of the lucky ones.
Memorial services for Roger were scheduled in four hours.
Buaireas was still in rebuild.
Matthew sighed and looked up from the depressing report pad.
Three mischievous children ran past in gleeful childish obliviousness.
“Matthew?” Jessica strode across the bridge of The Mage’s Hand towards him once he acknowledged her.
“Jess, you know you don’t have to act like that towards me.” his left arm was in a sling, the burns on his chest would heal in time.
Though he may suffer a permanent limp.
“I went over the sensor logs again with Gel’ar. There was a teleport signal hidden in the middle of the teleFRAg signal.”
Frowning, Matthew looked at the report.
“So who the hell was that?”

He rolled over and groaned.
Last thing he recalled, the ceiling was coming down because he’d called for supporting fire on his own position.
Taking stock of his situation he let his sense tell him what was around.
He was laying on a solid but warm textured metal floor in the dark without clothing.
He wasn’t dead, but not because he’d planned it that way.
Someone had grabbed him via teleporter, but who?
And how?
Presently, he heard something move nearby.
“Ah, you’re awake.” A feminine voice said.
It was familiar, similar to but not quite the same as his..
“Eva?” he took a stab in the dark.
“Well, yes, in a way.” the lights started to come on slowly, letting his eyes adjust.
She was Eva, but not his Eva.
“I need you to do something for me.”
The hum and purr of several unbound AI spiders told him that refusal was not an option.
“I want a copy of you for my own.”

Howya, F.J.! Sa-LOOT! from my son J.F. ;-)

I’ve been to the library and to church, and the next thing is the baby’s doctor appointment. I read the story, but I’ll have to watch the music videos later.
