The First Lady better known for shopping at more modestly-priced High Street stores along with the Queen of Qatar, Sheikha Mozah, closed off part of Madison Avenue to spend time in the luxury lingerie shop. Their purchases contributed to a market-spanking 12.5pc lift in sales.
Agent Provocateur, which is styled on vintage Hollywood glamour, sells handmade Calais lace corsets that sell for up to £900, which could ruffle the feathers of more than just President Barack Obama in an election year.
Gary Hogarth, Agent Provocateur's chief executive, refused to be drawn on the store's closely kept "secret client list". But he admitted the brand had attracted a high number of "unexpected famous names" especially in the US, where sales have overtaken the UK.
On the back of this growth, Agent Provocateur, which is owned by listed private equity firm 3i, is launching an aggressive expansion strategy with more than 20 new shops opening globally in 2012.

She needs Spanx. The all in one type.
A common dressmaker or tailor could completely eliminate the bra line and pantie lines, and the wrinkles around the the thighs and legs. There is **no** excuse for a bra strap to be hanging out of a too tight sleeveless blouse, or for slacks that look like they are giving her a wedgie. Dress hemlines should not be hanging 6 inches below the back of her coat. There is no reason for wrinkles in her jacket across her back, or for the sides of her jacket to stick out like dog ears. Her kick pleats are so high that if she leaned over a few inches her underwear would show.
Little ole’ **me** could fix these tailoring mistakes with my bedroom sewing machine! Surely in Washington, D.C., there is a tailor or seamstress who is more than capable of adjusting her clothing so that it properly fits her shape. She would feel more comfortable as well.
No one should mock Michele for her shape any more than Eleanor Roosevelt should have been denigrated for her chin, but, there is **no** reason for our nation's First Lady to be wearing poorly constructed and tailored clothing.
Nearly all of the outfits shown in the photos above would have been far more attractive if they had been properly tailored!
That would explain the 50 grand worth of material required.
"Gimme dat black widow-inspired teddy in size WookieXXX..."
More likely a jihadi front organization. A lingerie store... somehow that makes perfect sense.
Thanks, Maggie
Corsets? Doesn’t sound like a nightie to me.
Didn’t know they made this in a size to fit that huge caboose!
Maybe that’s why it cost so much!
On that last picture with Moochelle-Antoinette in the greenish dress:
At least we now know who wears the pants in that family!
OK, let’s have a show of hands.
How many took the first two words of the article title literally?
(One hand up, over here.)
Excellent point, Wintertime
Her clothing choices are not suited to her body type, and definitely not to her role as First Lady,
Good tailoring can make someone look ten lbs thinner. So would chooses fabrics that are not shiny or clingy, and wearing the proper undergarments.
You can be sure even old Aunt Esther wore a girdle!
Since you seem to be an expert on this sort of thing, what about the length if her trousers compared to Carla Bruni-Sarkozy (standing next to her in the lavender coat with black trousers.)?
Michelle’s pant leg seems way too long and puddling like a curtain over her shoe, Carla’s is trim and just skims the heel. You would think Michelle’s needed a hemming.
She looks disgusting
He is disgusting
Now that’s just wrong...
Mooch should share her $50,000.00 worth of lingere.
I'm sure Whoopie Goldberg and Queen Sheila Jackson Lee are are part of the 99% lingere deprived.
Hemming would be the last thing to be fixed.
The crotch length of the slacks are too short and this is giving her a wedgie. Once this was adjusted, then I would adjust width across the hips. Immediately the pantie line, the wrinkles on the hips, back and thighs would disappear. Finally, I would adjust the hem to about the the length they are in the photo. The hem appears to be just skimming the top of her shoe.
The coat is too tight across the hips and therefore causing it to bunch and form wrinkles across the back. A gusset under the sleeves and kick pleats in the back would allow the jacket to lie more smoothly when raising the arms as she is doing in this photo.
Finally, the collar:
Is the collar supposed to be up or down? Make a decision and keep it that way.
Post of the day, maybe the decade!
Unless Michelle bought a designer strap-on, I doubt she gets much attention from the First Husband...
For Michelle to get attention from her Anointed One she’d have to put a plantain in her pocket.
Michelle's fashionista status is one of the "cognitive dissonance" of the progressives' promotion of the Messiah Couple. The worse she dresses, the more they tell us how chic she is. The worse the economy is, the more they tell us was a success O is.
For all that we have a good time with her tasteless disasters, she really is not an unattractive woman and even has some enviable features--her height, her nice smile (when she doesn't duck her head and scowl from under her eyebrows) and other things.
I think I could dress her a lot better than she does, and make her take better advantage of her assets.
But, I'd have to insist that she practice walking and standing for the camera.
