A cat belonging to 3rd Congressional District candidate Ken Aden’s campaign manager was killed Sunday. The cat’s corpse was spray-painted with the word “liberal.”
Jacob Burris, Aden’s campaign manager since October, said his four children discovered the cat dead on the front porch when the family arrived at their Russellville home Sunday.
Aden said the incident is disgusting.
“This individual must have had a screw loose in the head,” Aden said today. “It’s just wrong, any way you slice it.”
Burris filed an incident report with the Russellville Police Department and has contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Aden said.
Josh McMillan, department public information officer, said officials had no leads or suspect information. If information on a suspect is developed, officers will treat the incident as an animal cruelty case, he said.
“Right now we have no other reports of this happening,” McMillan said, “but we plan to step up patrols in the area to make sure it is an isolated event.”
Aden said he doesn’t intend to the let the incident affect the campaign.
“All across the country, people are fed up with politics, but we have to stay above the fray,” he said.
The 33-year-old Russellville Democrat is running for the seat held by Republican Rep. Steve Womack of Rogers. Womack is seeking re-election.
The general election is Nov. 6.

Not saying it didn’t happen - just that’d be mighty hard to spray paint seven letters with any kind of spray tool other than an airbrush or detailer. On top of that, fur is a pretty lousy surface to get precision lines of any kind.
This smells fishy (not kitty) to me.

And yes, I think the story sounds fishy.
He killed the cat himself. It will prove to be an attempted smear attack. And who hasn’t been tempted to kill their own cat?

Maybe the cat died naturally and they painted it, put it on the porch and called the police just to make us look bad. Why waste a crises or a dead cat?
It is probably a liberal “victim” concoction. I don’t beleive a conservative killed the cat or that a cat was killed for political reasons.
Also, you beleive someone can SPRAY PAINT L I B E R A L on the body of a cat? I don’t. It would not fit with that medium on the small cat canvass.

Sadly, I’d rather think that’s it...that someone accidentally hit and killed it, then he’s trying to fake his way to cheap sympathy. I’m all for fighting hard, but young kids, pets, spouses who aren’t sticking their noses in, should be utterly off limits.
I don’t want to think anyone from our side could do this, and I don’t want to think he could be cold blooded enough to intentionally kill an animal that trusted him either...liberal or not.

It's a strongly Republican district, so Democrats assume pee-off-the-porch country fried stupidity among the electorate.
The sacrifice of a family cat is a cheap exchange for the power accrued by getting elected, since the ends justify the means.
