Gwyneth Paltrow’s New $425 GOOP Cleanse ‘A Waste Of Time And Money,’ Say Doctors

Gwyneth Paltrow released her GOOP newsletter, Jan. 5, promoting her GOOP cleanse kit, which costs $425, but doctors interviewed by HollywoodLife say cleanses have ‘no scientific proven’ value and are ‘complete bunk’!

Don’t spend your money or your effort subjecting yourself to actress Gwyneth Paltrow‘s “cleanse” or anyone else’s, say top NYC doctors.

“‘Cleansing’ is the equivalent of ’snake oil,’” says NYC internist, Dr. Robert Bos.

He adds that “there is no scientific proof” that a cleanse will help give your digestive system a break, eliminate toxins, rebuild beneficial bacteria or give you more energy, as Gwyneth promises in her GOOP newsletter.

Gwyneth’s cleanse program instructs you to drink her protein shake for breakfast, have a solid meal for lunch, another shake for dinner and take her GOOP “clean” supplements (which aren’t explained) throughout the day.

She claims that her cleanse will give “your digestive system a break” and will also “improve energy levels by bringing in high-quality vitamins and nutrients.” She also claims that her program will “rebuild beneficial bacteria” and “eliminate toxins,” and she says she has lost weight doing this in the past.

The cost of her GOOP cleanse is $425!

Now here’s what top doctors had to say about her claims:

I heard Richard Gere still has an undigested Gerbil in his colon. Urban Legend or just a typical weekend for him?

She should get her peanut sized brain GOOPED. Maybe eliminate the Marxist toxins roaming around in that vacuous wasteland of a skull.

I like her family values. She has been married a long time and has two children. Very impressive in Hollywood standards. Her parents were married over 30 years until his death. A very good person in Hollywood. More should be like her. A patriotic American who children should look up to if you are looking for your kids to look up to a Hollywood type.

“cleanse?” I went through the lower GI prep once in my lifetime and that was more than enough, thank you very much.

2 big things have changed:
The internet has caused all news to be national. We find out about all kinds of crap all over the place now we never would have before. 1 kid in Wisconsin dies of peanut allergies now the whole world finds out.

Our medical community has a lot more labels they like to waive around now. Back in the 70s and before if you were non-fatally allergic to some food it was “too rich for you” or “made you gassy” or “didn’t get along with you”. Now you’re lactose intolerant, or suffer from celiac or whatever the label is. Add these labels to the internet and the whole situation seems to explode, but really it’s still the same small percentage of the population having problems with a subset of the food.

How did it go out of business?

Have no clue.

Maybe as was on the second floor of this building, not enough "believers", the owner had this attitude I took as "out to make a buck" new business, and no matter if it worked or not, and she did not care; as I had a business owner below her ask if she had read the reports out of the Uk or done any research on her own. Wouldnt respond. Was $35 a shot. I had done some searches at the time and found lots of scam claims out of the UK. If it does not seem medically and atomically impossible I hold major doubt. On U.S. Health sites on the net there are those who still believe [or the posts/comment are manufactured for sales] the pads work but in going to the MayoClinic site found there is no science here to support.

Usually these things are all fads. People can be made to believe just about anything. There is no law against thinking something works and psychologically believing you are healed. Hope sold Obama..Hope and Change with nothing to support his remedies.

The net and tv, both are flooded with all these drop the stomach weight immediately with this pill only sold from the manufacturer--usually after the holidays when people are most susceptible.

I think the unusual protein allergies (nuts, shellfish, etc) that have come about in such quantities in the last decade or two might have something to do with the sheer number of vaccines given under 6 months of age. There are all lot of things in there, the media, preservatives, bits of protein like the eggs some rely upon for media, and of course the strong immune adjuvants, that it such quantities may really slam the immune system, starting a lifetime of autoimmune reactions.

It’s got to be SOMETHING in infancy that really whacks the immune system, and these quantities of vaccines, many of which are not that effective anyway, may be just the culprit.

Why do many kids seem to have no ill effects from their vaccines? Well, do we know that? Maybe they will end up with neurodegenerative diseases later on, like Parkinsons and Alzheimers, both also increasing in frequency lately.

Peanuts reaction to possibly: “Hygiene Hypothesis.”

I grew some "white strawberries" or alpine as visually match when I did a search. I bought them not knowing they were white. Pulled them out the first growing season, thinking was too shady do no color but for their "eyes or spots". This year filled in [thought I had pulled them out] beautifully and made an attractive ground cover [could prune] in part shade which they seem to enjoy--I found in researching that the red color is from a protein and is the reason for some to have an allergy to strawberries but not so when the protein is missing, as in the white. They are small but larger than "wild" and are really sweet with a pineapple taste-difficult to describe. So in this case this protein "Fra a1" was not in the white. And birds are not a problem as they cannot see them. I passed on many plants to others who liked the taste.

Who knows how our food is altered over time or GE enhanced in some way. There are people like me who only like milk and dairy-butter, eggs, yogurt, cheeses- and meat from the local farmers and not the corporation milk/brands. I rarely see the inside of a corporation supermarket unless am by a Whole Foods.

I read your first post as that the business went out of business because of you.

I’m surprised people buy into these things; I agree that they are just fads. The thing with Princess Diana was just too much. That can’t be good for you.

oh no..sorry if I gave you that impression..maybe I willed it so but think they did themselves in. ;)

If we are so worried about what we “send out”, perhaps we should pay more attention to what we “put in”.

Oil: [alaskan salmon] fish oil capsules my medical friend swears by. I have never taken pills, medications past the cold and flu infection type, and one stupid is as stupid does caused a shoulder injury, pain killer short time--so I have difficulty trying to Fixate on anything being yucky "inside", so Knock on wood!

http://koyfmancenter.com/articles.htm Diana/Elvis etc. I am sure much is overstated, when you have someone who cannot defend themselves from tabloid sensationalism which never ends even after death.

makes me wonder why these people who do nothing but memorize a script aand then read their lines on cue on some silly movie set all of a sudden think they are experts on having babies, cookie, raising their children and now this latest joke...like she is qualified even for something like this. What a dope. I thought btw that she had moved to England. She was another one not liking our country but like the rest of those losers...they like it well enough to sell something and take money from those foolish or stupid enough to be sucked into something so assinine. Never liked her...never will. I have more sense.

Well, I won’t be making those jokes but... I can’t imagine anyone with good sense wasn’t around to advise her on such an idea. $425??? That’s even MORE of a joke.

You know what's funny is that all these 'cleanse' things inevitably mention how John Wayne was autopsied and had a lot of undigested meat (pounds of it) in his large intestine.

The urban legend I've heard is John Wayne suffered from stomach cancer and ate most of his meals on the toilet.
