Anyone?!
Can we even recognize conservatism anymore?
I am sick and tired of sophomoric vanities.
A lot of the problem you’re seeing, is that there just aren’t that many strong conservative leaders left anymore.
So am I; so stop posting.
Pet peeve of mine, sorry. When you post a vanity, you solicit responses. You can’t complain that they are not of the sort you prefer.
When you post a one-line comment, as a vanity, that might be better served as a reply to a thread that already exists on the topic, you invite harsh comments.
Not shining.
While there may not be any conservative candidates available, I don’t believe any of us here do the USA a favor by not voting for whomever the GOP nominates. The NUMBER ONE priority is to get the Kenyan usurper and his EEOC Affirmative Action butt-ugly spouse OUT of the White House - no matter what. America can deal with a Romney, America may not survive another 4 years of Barack Obama unfettered by the need to run again, using Exectuive Orders to circumvent the Legislative Branch, and possibly appointing 2 SCOTUS Justices. See, folks, the latter is the end-game here, the final nail in the US coffin. We CANNOT let that happen.
The 2012 election is a call-to-arms. We need to meet the enemy, the democrat party, at Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill. We cannot fail.
I classified as “chit/chat” which I thought was the appropriate forum.
Trouble is, our public education system has long ago abandoned the teaching of real history, parents (when present) are working their rears off to make ends meet, and no one in DC seems to give any consideration to anyone but themselves.
What is needed are questions like “What is Conservatism?” to begin dialogue and education. Sad to say, but it's back-to-basics to the American Public.
I don’t think it’s a problem with RECOGNIZING conservatism; it’s more about ORGANIZING it.
The problem comes when a candidate who believes and advocates 999 conservative ideals, but is squishy on abortion, that candidate becomes a total scoundrel in the eyes of a third of conservatives.
Another candidate believes and advocates and has a track record of fostering 999 conservative ideals, but believes the scientists who tout global warming MIGHT be right. That candidate is now a TOTAL SCOUNDREL to another third of the movement.
Another candidate believes, advocates, has a track record in office, and brilliantly enunciates 999 conservative ideals; but he once allowed himself to be hornswoggled by a floozie, a socialist or a huckster. That candidate, you guessed it, is a TOTAL SCOUNDREL in the eyes of another third of conservatives.
This is what has to stop. This disorganization, or failure to organize around the greater good, this quixotic quest for absolute purity, equals dysfunctional conservatism.
We know and recognize conservatism. We just don’t know smart. And we wouldn’t know WINNING if it bit us in the ass.
Don’t listen to the gripes, fwdude. Let’s get the discussion rolling.
At thus point in time...ANY VOTE for any GOP candidate is a vote against Obammy.
I don’t even recognize america much less conservatism.
True.
But it’s a mistake to think that Romney can beat Obama. They’re two peas in a pod. No different, really.
Why vote for a “conservative” poser undercover liberal when you can have the real thing?
Indeed. The comment that served as the article is made on pretty much every thread about the primaries.
You got that right, Migraine!
And folks are chatting with you. Now do you understand?
Don’t worry, I’ve developed thick skin here (mostly from the Paulbots.)
