If you mean reeducated, you might have a point. If you mean reeudcated, my wife wants me to have that done sometime in the future.

No need for camps,IMHO, just control of the information and some judicious firings of opponents.

Passing a law won't make it happen, nor will it even make it legal. There aren't enough camps for 100 million people, nor are there enough guards, nor will the country have enough food to feed itself should 1/3 of the population wind up in them.

...what is currently preventing the govt from becoming a new Stalinist or Maoist or NK-like paradise ?

Because we'll shoot the bastards if they try it.

We are already inside the “reeducation camp”. With each television sitcom, every advertisement, every AP and UPI “news” article, and every loaded glance at the supermarket checkout at a non-approved viewpoint... we are immersed in reeducation. It’s not beatings with rubber hoses and fake confessions anymore, just a slow drip drip drip of behavior modification.

When the time comes for this to become a threat, is when most of “us” become instructors, with one lesson plan to re-educate the re-educators...

Turn to the chapter in your books titled, “The Second Amendment” (and its practical uses)...

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn wanted to execute 25 million Americans, to make things “fair”. Chances are, they still do. And they advise the Kenyan.

Stealth legislation is being inserted into bills paving the way for the camps. The Army has created a new MOS specifically for the camps. It’s going to happen.

If you do not think it will happen, why dont you think it will happen ? What is currently preventing the govt from becoming a new Stalinist or Maoist or NK-like paradise ? What provisions in the recent laws I mentioned above prevent them from being used to create a dictatorship,, if there are any ?

My guess: The second amendment.

I think they'll react according to the perceived threat. Right now, they'll use it to try to stifle their opposition in advance of the next election but they don't feel threatened enough by the current prospects to attempt much beyond that.

Historically, they've been able to wait until they get back into office and take up where they left off. The Republicans will have left everything pretty much like they found it.

IMO, re-education camps are already up and running and have been for years just maybe not in the form you envision.

Sensitivity training for those who speak out has been going on for years for the new sexual norms no matter how deviant and vile.

Sensitivity training to protect every legit and fake religion except Christians of course has been going on for years.

Sensitivity training and constant re-writing of what is Politically Correct has been going on for years.

Why on earth would anyone thing re-education camps would not be in our future? The future is here and now.

Don’t need re-education camps when you can control the Alphabet networks, movies and news programs.

Otherwise it sounds like Bill Ayers’ wet dream. Just need the Cubans and Vietnamese commies to help clear out the un-educatable.

You lose a ton of credibility when your title is misspelled.

It shows you are too lazy to proof read before posting.

I didn't read beyond “reeudcated”, & for those who do bother to read further, they do so with skepticism.

Not a good way to make your point.

I'm an old dog, and I don't like new tricks. There's more guns in this country than there are people, and they know how to use them. If the powers to be want to “re-educate” people by force, they'll be getting a lesson on the second amendment they won't soon forget.

The problem is not mass internment camps, which is truly a “straw man” argument.

The problem is that the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists (AUFA) part of the NDAA clearly states that the president and an indeterminate number of subordinates can, without *any* probably cause, indictment, arrest or conviction, detain anyone *indefinitely* on a whimsical basis.

Notice I did not use the word “terrorist” other than in the name of AUFA. And this is the problem.

With the Patriot Act, many “antiterrorism” laws and regulations were expressly *intended* to be only for use against terrorists and their supporters. However, today they are used almost exclusively, or in some cases, exclusively, against Americans for non-terrorism related reasons, and in some cases, for no reason at all, but almost in a random manner.

The AUFA gives the congressional seal of approval on this.

As such, it is an unconstitutional and illegal law. Even Abraham Lincoln’s suspension of Habeus Corpus during the Civil War was clearly temporary, and even then it was whittled down for being an improper and unconstitutional action.

Is America seriously facing a crisis threat from Islamists as bad as the US Civil War? Even if they managed to obtain some dirty non-fission nuclear or chemical weapon, they could not possibly cause a fraction of the destruction and death caused by the Civil War.

So why has America descended into legal depths not seen during our wars, hot or cold? Must we surrender everything it means to be as Americans just so our government can go beyond authoritarianism into totalitarianism?

Re-education camps? The best person to direct this question to is Michael Rivero. He’s got all the inside info on the camps, the helicopters and the white unmarked vans...........We are so screwed!

Strange thread. IMHO it would be difficult to re-educate folks with guns. They will have to kill them in another civil war. However, the UN does want to decrease the population. I would think American Patriots would be the first they would get rid of. Why re-educate when killing is easier and less costly...

A whole list of things would have to transpire for that scenario to take place. Under the current regime, it could happen if we are suicidal enough to put Obama in office for a second term. Lets hope America is looking at the big picture.

Who in 1935 expected european Jewry to be wiped out by 1945. Re-education camps in the USA? Stranger things have happened.
