What Christmas means to Christians..and why.
That is VERY disturbing.

White Christmas Drifters 1955.
Hmm. I have a childhood horror story about I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, so I agree there. Short story, I was to sing a solo before the PTA in third grade. This 163 year-old lady who was the pianist chose "I Saw." I was a volunteer performer. I just said 'no thanks, find somebody else to sing." I wouldn't sing that pablum, even at eight years old. So we practiced "Rudolph" for about a month. The night of the performance, as I stood at the mic, she gave me a mean old lady grin and began to play the intro to "I Saw Mommy." I glared at her and sang the entire song with clinched teeth, never looking away from her to the audience. My parents were mortified. I learned never to trust adults that day. I get nauseous when I hear that song more than four decades later.
But Feliz Navidad? My little bluegrass group played last Wednesday night at a shelter for women and children. We taught the children the simple words and what they mean. And we rocked the song, and the kids danced and sang and made us keep playing it, over and over. They had a ball. I gave a girl in a wheelchair my 'antlers' that lit up with LEDs. I'll never hear Feliz Navidad again without smiling in my heart and on my face.
Feliz Navidad moved into the Top Christmas Songs list last Wednesday night.

I thought Feliz Navidad was “Police Nabbed My Dad.”
Okay, Scout. After hearing your story, I’ll reconsider Feliz. :-) But Mommy? Your story is horrific. Was she a nun?
What nice stories! Thank you for sharing them. I like Feliz Navidad too. I remember my little nephew at 18 months snapping his fingers and saying, “Now Spanis,” and a little later, “Now Englis.” So charming! It’s a song to which kids can groove. I like that characteristic.
I really enjoy, “Do you hear what I hear”.
Mine too, without a doubt.
There are several others I love, but that one is my absolute favorite.
Bah.
My wife said Celtic Woman group has a Christmas show this evening. I don’t know what network.
I really like that version. Thanks for the link so I could see it again.
I’ll be at a Christmas concert tonight, so I’ll miss the broadcast of Celtic Woman (and the debate...LOL).
I’m cooking a pot of chili. My wife is in Corpus until Monday so it may well be gone by then. I’ll try to find the Celtic Woman show this evening.
