Donald Trump Debate Now Just A Two-Man Affair

Two more Republican candidates -- Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry -- said thanks but no thanks to an invitation to participate in an Iowa debate managed by real estate mogul Donald Trump.
The Dec. 27 affair has now just two committed participants, one at the top of the GOP field and one distant aspirant, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, respectively.
Perry's campaign said he plans to focus his efforts on traditional retail campaigning in the closing weeks. His campaign announced plans for a 44-town bus tour starting next week.
Bachmann, who earlier this week had expressed reservations about Trump's impartiality, officially RSVPd no Thursday.
Conservative media group Newsmax announced last week it had partnered with Ion Television to host a debate, and had chosen Trump as the moderator.
Before the Perry and Bachmann announcements, Trump acknowledged that his role had given candidates pause.
"People are afraid that I'm going to run as an independent candidate and some of the people that are supposed to be in the debate have expressed that. And I don't want to give up that option, because it certainly is an option," he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

Two man affair for now—but things could change and change fast—I expect Romney to “change his mind” and maybe Rick Perry. Lets see how it all plays out.

A better question would be “Who does Trump work for?”
Obama has addressed the issue of his non-eligibility by refocusing questions to one solely of his place of birth, effectively planting in the minds of the uninformed that a US birthplace alone meets the Article II requirement of Natural Born Citizenship.
You’ll note tha Obama never,ever, claims NBC status....only saying “I was born here I am a citizen.” (If he is a Constitutional scholar as he claims (sic) he would know that citizenship is not the Constitutional Article II requirement, and frame his responces in Constitional terms.)
Trump, in his pursuit of the NBC issue, did nothing more than play Obama’s game by investigating Obama’s birthplace, ignoring the very real, and I might add, very open, disqualifying fact of Obama’s father’s foreign citizenship.
Is Trump so incompetant that he can’t see that pink elephant sitting in the middle of the parlor? It appears so.....or??????? Trump did not advance, but instead repressed the NBC question.
The question might then become “Why is Trump providing Obama cover on this issue?”
It’s not the asking of questions that is important here....(our biased press almost always asks leftist enabling questions), it’s asking the right questions. Trump has failed miserably in this.
That said, an even better question is “Who are YOU working for?” Your responce seems intent on defending Trump’s, at the very least, “misguided” , or, at the very worst, Obama enabling efforts in this area.
As for myself, to address your inquiry, I am working in defence of the Constitution of the United States.....and the Founder’s Original Intent when writting Article II......so you might say I am working for them......and for future generations of Americans.......

Dec 27 is too close to Christmas. Wait till the New Year is here and then have it. I don’t want politics two days after Christmas. Give the candidates a holiday.
I understand your thought about this being too close to Christmas. However, the Iowa caucuses are January 3rd. Having the debate on, for example, January 5th won’t be of any use to the Iowa voters.
The issue of Obama’s place of birth is definitely a question.
The issue of NBC re: his birth is also a question.
The original birth cert is the first place to go to discern both questions. To date no legitimate birth cert has been submitted.
BTW.. Responce is actually spelled “response”. Defence... is actually spelled “defense”.

Your post exactly illustrates my point.
Trump only focused on the place of Obama’s birth (Played Obama’s game because there is no legitimate reason to suspect that he was born anywhere other than Hawaii.) By focusing on this aspect of NBC Trump is assisting Obama in avoiding the real disqualifying issue of parentage. You’ll notice he studiously avoided raising that aspect....WHY????
......because Trump is a headline seeking clown, who adds little or no value to the political discussion. One should not expect any better from a NY Republican (AKA RINO/Democrat Lite) I guess.....or should we?????
Attention to detail is important... getting tied up in minutia is equally important. To me, it seems you are caught up in minutia regarding the Obama eligibility, which obscures and hinders the offense taken by others to take the poseur down. Now, you need to ask yourself which side are you truly on.
