I don't know of any now... but here are my thoughts... Sometime between now and Jan 1 large chains and even local stores will DUMP THEIR INVENTORY possibly for PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR!

So if you hear about good deals for 100 watters, please post away. I need to stock up on the clear ones...

Of course the single thing that makes them last the very longest is also the simplest - just like most electronics - never turn them off!

Very true but most persons wouldn’t believe it. Start up puts the most stress on anything electrical.

I knew a guy very into stereo, like me, who had a really expensive tube amplifier.

Never turned it off.
Well, except when he hooked it up to a UPS.
Never after that!

Wish I had a good one, but I’d need at least 550-800 watts to make it worth my while, I currently push about 490 or thereabouts...

(I have the ORIGINAL Polk SDA-SRS speakers which can take 1300 watts each no problemo!)

I remember a story about a European manufacturer who got around the EU regulations by selling the incandescent light-bulbs as radiant heating devices. It was all quite legal.

Ok bootlicker, whatever floats your boat. You enjoy that crappy light and be a good little comrade and do what the tyrants in DC tell you to do. Me? I will enjoy my bright light and if I have to change a bulb, it takes about 2 minutes. Hope you don’t drop on in your house.

Why a link to candles? Who needs candles if they have enough 100 watt incandescent bulbs to last for 50 years?

39.00 for a 75 watt flood light. LOL! A sucker born every minute I guess. I don’t care if they say they last 50,000 hours, they won’t! No way in hell. Not where I live with the salt spray from the ocean.

WRONG! You think the USA with a dictatorial government is acceptable? Pal, there are plenty of other places that don’t have a tyrannical government. Why do you think so many people are exiting the US? If things don’t change, the only ones left here in 25 years may be pinkos and boot lickers.

I do the same thing and I agree, it’s stunning how many ignorant people there are that don’t have a clue. Wait until they go to buy bulbs after the end of the year and find out what they have to pay for that crappy light. That’s when I expect the sh*t will hit the fan. I think it will be repealed.

I had a 150W Sodium pressure vapor outside light that lasted over 16 years, turns on auto at dark

Thats more than 70,000 hours.

Cost 11 bux to replace back in 2007

The new one will outlive me, no doubt!

This is the lowest price I’ve noticed today...about 37 cents per bulb...1620 lumens...750 hour life (pick up in store only - they show them as being in stock). . .

Not good news for the light bulb industry. :P If it never needs replaced, how will they stay in business? I’ve got one of those curly Q long life bulbs in an outside fixture. It has lasted about 3-4 years but it has gotten dimmer. That light fixture has a tight seal and isn’t near the ocean so it gets no direct salt spray. The 2 I had near the ocean lasted not even 6 months.

Hey idiot. I pay the bills.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
yeah I figured. Thats why I said what I said.
There’s more than lights that use electricity. The rate they charge for electricity varies. The non lighting uses of electricity vary according to the weather. Lighting use varies according to hours per day of occupancy. non lighting electricity varies according to occupancy numbers. Modifying any of the equipment or the envelop of the building or the shade on the building will change electricity use.
For you to know what the hell you are talking about you need to compare same month from different years and apply a correction for average month outdoor temperature and average days of sunshine. Then you need to have records of average daily traffic in and out of the building and apply a correction for that.
I seriously doubt you have the brains to do have done any of this. I would put you in the 99%.
