BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah
Excitement turned to pain after a man suddenly received a shotgun blast to the buttocks while bird hunting with several companions Sunday.
Pipper the yellow labrador was the triggerdog behind the blast the sent his 46-year-old hunting companion to the hospital. Somehow, caught up in the excitement of the hunt, Pipper set off the shotgun that struck Brigham City native Robert Cottingham in the lower back and buttocks.

Never said I was St. Francis nor do I belive that I will ever be him. As far as you saying “Poor, lonely little girl.” then I guess you and I both like women.
i believe you need spell check.
i believe you need psycho-analysis.
i believe you are zot-material.
“As a VEGAN to bad the dog wasnt aiming higher.”
Not funny!
Poor little girl doesn’t know what he wants. He should do one of those online classifieds: Single nut-job seeking VEGAN, sweet potato eating, self righteous, pontificating, human hating, PETA loving blowhard. Respond to lithium-lover@yahoo.com
I know that there are plenty of ladies, you not included, that would love to meet a guy like me and also join me at the firing range.
“I know that there are plenty of ladies... that would love to meet a guy like me”.
But there aren’t. You know that... every FReeper on this thread knows that! You’d have to knock one unconscious with a bag of sweet potatoes and DRAG her to the range. Even then... she’d probably shoot better than you. What are your targets? Oh, I know... pictures of big, bad, burly man hunters, right?! Bwwhahhhaahhhaha.... “plenty of ladies”. Yeah, right!
Microbes are people too!!!!!
Don’t eat *anything*!
;]
Looks like you really stepped in a hornets nest, JEC. The ladies here can be pretty harsh.
I’m probably a little more sympathetic to your position since I’m pretty passionate about killing meat eaters myself... It’s why I kill coyotes.
Wretched vermin have killed some cattle here. They’ve also had quite an impact on the deer and wild turkey populations.
If you ever want to do anything about your hatred of meat eaters beyond eating sweet potatoes, let me know. Maybe we could kill us some coyotes and save some deer, cattle, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels and birds the slow, agonizing horror of dying normally and naturally in the wild.
We might even spare some family pets or even someone’s child. A little girl was snatched off of a trampoline by a ‘yote in your state a few months ago. That one met his appropriate fate from a neighbor’s shotgun.
I don’t even want to think about what I’d do if I ever caught one digging up my sweet potatoes.
LOL Did I mention the millions of sentient beings we inhale with each breath? ;^)
“... if I ever caught one digging up my sweet potatoes..”
Bwahhaaahhahhaaa! Love it!
The second sentence proves the first. LOL No one who makes sweeping assumptions based on literally zero evidence can make an intelligent argument.
Here is the Buddhist view of your form of compassion...
...although I would take issue with Trungpa's use of the word 'idiot' in cases like yours. An idiot has no idea what they are talking about. An idiot's conclusions are born of complete ignorance. But you know what I was talking about. You know that millions of beings suffer and die for your VEGAN diet as much as for any other diet. You consciously CHOOSE to ignore that suffering and then ride on the back of that suffering like it was your high horse. That is the mind of a sadist not the mind of a gentle giant who accidentally squeezes his pet kitten to death because he doesn't know his own strength. Your mind is the definition of cruelty.

Actually I do read mostly outside of FR. I have never seen on FR any discussion of feeding a dog a vegan diet. There might be a reason for that, the reason being it’s plainly stupid, wrong and in the end just silly.
If you’re feeding soy based protein, you’re blowing out their thyroid and messing with their endocrine systems.
Soy is a know goitrogen.
http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=47
It’s also a heavily pesticided crop and extremely difficult to find in a non-GMO form.
“Poor, lonely little girl.”
More like “poor malnourished dogs”.
Feeding a meat-eating animal a “vegan” diet -will- catch up with you sooner or later.
*People* get to choose to indulge that dietary stupidity; innocent animals do -not-.
There’s the goitrogenic properties of soy, not to mention the endocrine issues.
Soy is famous for being a phytoestrogen.
Soy [and corn] are the two major ingredients in the cheap, low quality dog foods most often implicated in cases of bloat.
[along with the brewer’s yeast used to jack up the protein content...it literally ferments inside the dog]
I do not allow my dogs to have those ingredients.
The irony is that heavily soy-based “vegan dog food” is obscenely over-priced.
You get to pay top dollar for damaging your dog.
That is seriously messed up but clever dog food manufacturers are quite happy to take money from “guilt ridden moralists.”
What a shame.
Wow. Who knew that vegetarians could be so savage?
