For the first time ever, the Jaguars will have a new owner.
One day before the 18-year anniversary of the Jaguars being named an expansion franchise, the team told its employees Wayne Weaver sold the organization to Shahid Khan, a Pakistani-born businessman who tried to buy the St. Louis Rams last season.

always the threat of “THE BOMB” or was that the dropped pass?
I never really cared to much for Jaguars, too much flashy chrome......
Does this mean that their cheerleaders are going to be wearing burkas?
I wonder if Khan has any friends who are terrorists? Rush Limbaugh was not allowed to buy into the Rams, but a Muslim from Pakistan can buy the Jaguars. Go figure.
...Khan was born in Pakistan. Haven’t heard, or read that he is Muslim, or that he has friends who are terrorists.
Love the kneejerk reactions. Chances are he’s getting slammed on Dem boards as being a greedy American capitalist.
I, as a Jax resident and Jags fan applaud the potential sale.
Weaver put many other Weaver’s in executive positions with this struggling team. What are the odds of having NFL level executive talent running throughout your entire family?
I think f m was referencing the double standard as it applied to Rush’s bid.
As far as I can tell, Khan is a solid American; he came VERY close to purchasing the ST. LOUIS Rams and came across as a bedrock, successful midwestern businessman.
However, if the Right played as dirty as the arrogantly racist Left, Khan’s bid could have been easily trashed as well.
Alligator is so much softer and there are plenty in Florida.
I can’t wait to see the new cheerleaders’ uniforms. I bet the hijab with a Jaguar on it will be so cool. s/
manc,
you live in the northeast part of Florida which means you probably are a Jag fan.
Problem for the Jags is they have about the smallest viewership area in the sport.
That adds up to less money making it more dificult to turn a profit and buy good talent.
Move the team to L.A. where a new stadium is being planned and you turn a profit and have about the largest viewing market.
Sorry.
Will all players now have to don a “flak jacket”?
no arguments from me pal
As I understand it, NFL rules prohibit share companies from acquiring a franchise. GB is grandfathered in. Only small partnerships, or preferrably, individual owners.
BTW, when I read the headline, I didn’t know if the Pakistani businessman was buying felines, or autos or an auto company. BUZZZZZ. None of the above.
LOL.
might as well watch your feline play than watching the Jags, it be more exciting.
Thanks for the info
