Who is Ginger White?
http://www.nydailynews.com ^ | BY Bill Hutchinson & Joseph Straw

Posted on 11/29/2011 4:59:06 AM PST by Lucky9teen

The Atlanta woman who says she was Herman Cain’s mistress for 13 years is a down-on-her-luck single mom who once sued a former employer for sexual harassment.

Ginger White surfaced in bombshell fashion on Monday, telling an Atlanta TV station that she’s “not proud” of what she described as long-running sexual shenanigans with the married GOP White House contender.

“I didn’t want to come out this way,” she said in an interview with Atlanta’s FOX affiliate WAGA-TV that put Cain on the defensive even before it was aired.

White described herself in the interview as a jobless former businesswoman. She is middle-aged, has two children and was evicted from her Atlanta home earlier this month, according to a background check done by the TV station.

WAGA reporters also found records showing she has been hit with several eviction notices in DeKalb County, Ga., over the past six years.

She filed for bankruptcy 23 years ago, the station reported. In 2001, she also filed a sexual harassment suit, which was later settled, according to the station.

Her former business partner, Kimberly Vay, once sued her and accused her of stalking, the station reported.

Vay, who did not respond to calls for comment Monday, also sought an order of protection against White, charging that she was bombarded with emails and texts “threatening [a\] lawsuit” and defaming her character.

A judge ruled in favor of Vay in a libel suit she had filed against White, the station reported.

White admits she has struggled as a single mother, but added that her financial woes shouldn’t define her.

“I don’t think that makes me out to be a bad person,” she told the station. “It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.”

White said she ignored the fact Cain was married during their alleged affair, which she said included trysts in hotel rooms across the country. She says they met at a business conference during the 1990s.

“It was pretty simple,” White told WAGA. “It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship.”

Cain, 65, who has been married for 43 years, went on CNN to deny the affair before White’s complete WAGA-TV interview was broadcast live.

His lawyer, Lin Wood, told the TV station that because White hasn't alleged harassment or assault, the matter doesn't belong in the news.

“The public's right to know and the media's right to report has boundaries and most certainly those boundaries end outside of one's bedroom door,” Wood wrote.

White said she came forward because she is upset over how Cain handled previous allegations that he sexually harassed four women, two of whom reportedly received cash settlements from the National Restaurant Association, where he was CEO during the 1990s.

“It bothered me that they were being demonized, sort of; they were treated as if they were automatically lying, and the burden of proof was on them,” White said. “I felt bad for them.”

Cain, the former head of the Godfather’s Pizza chain, was running near the top of the polls before the claims of sexual harassment broke.

Last week, Cain dropped to third place in a national GOP poll run by Quinnipiac University. He came in with 14% of the vote, behind ascendant former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

He said Monday he would stay in the race as long as he had his wife’s support. But White put even more pressure on him, offering what she said was proof of the alleged hush-hush romance.

She gave the TV station loads of cell phone records, and Cain’s personal cell phone, which he answered when someone from the station called it.

She also gave the station’s reporter two books Cain signed for her. In one of them, his 2001 autobiography “CEO of SELF,” Cain added a little note: “Friends are forever! Everything else is a bonus.”

Yes, there was a point, pgkdan.

You stated that there were those on this thread that employed the very same tactics as applied against His Slickness’s accusers.

I recall when Cain’s #4 accuser came out and complained about an “inappropriate” invitation to dinner, I went to her FB page and looked at all her “causes” she supported. Enough was there to cause me to totally discount her story.

... and I found it on the Internet w/o very much trouble.

That’s not the same thing as completely burying the Juanita Broaddrick story (one Lisa Meyers broadcast that very few people saw and then it went off into the ether - never to be mentioned again by the LSM).

Please show me where people questioning these Cain accusers are just like Carville describing Paula Jones by saying “you’ll never know what you get by dragging a $100 bill through a trailer park.”

Please be specific.

—I noticed that I haven’t seen anybody from Cain’s past come forth to defend the man’s character.Where are his past business associates?—

I confess that is another nuance in this case I have noticed as well.

Simple web search, for example:

There are shills for other candidates not interested in facts, just the smears.

If this was happening to their guy they would be acting the exact opposite.

If there were FACTS and PROOF no one would have to argue

—As I said, Cain’s devotees would stick with him no matter how much proof was presented...—

That is simply not true. I am a HUGE supporter and am waiting for answers.

I learned with Nixon, believe it or not. I used to tell my friends that the only thing that he did that the other politicians didn’t do was get caught. One day I did some serious reflecting and finally asked myself, “If my guy is caught red handed am I going to brush off his actions simply because he is “my guy”? That was the day I turned on him.

If and “real” evidence comes out against Cain sufficient to remove a reasonable doubt regarding these bimbo explosions, I’ll turn on him. His responses HAVE put me on the fence, but I am still facing his direction.

And now we know more about you than is necessary. I find that people who immediately assume the worst of someone else or take the gutter approach usually have some inner turmoil they wish to hide

One thing that this latest woman said about Cain in her interview was that “Herman Cain loves Herman Cain.” Like you, I felt he didn’t expect to be considered a serious contender, but did it sort of as a publicity stunt. But because people were so desperate for a blank slate upon which to project their dreams of a pure, innocent, cracker-barrel philosopher type of candidate, they seized on Cain and made him something he never expected to be.

This is not to defend him on the basis of his ignorance, however. I think he has handled this very badly and has cynically misled the people who trusted in him, and in fact, I was so angry at him when this latest woman stepped forward that I didn’t even want to post last night. I genuinely feel bad for the people who trusted him.

N00b, if you haven’t noticed it’s because you aren’t paying attention ... or you’re here to sow as much confusion as you can for your masters. Romneybot or DNC operative, n00b?

Now I see people here rationalizing it and even say, well, hey, so what’s wrong if he gets a little on the side every now and then. What red-blooded guy doesn’t? This overlooks issues like abuse of power, abuse of trust, and basic honesty. Cain is a Baptist minister, after all, so he should supposedly know better.

I've never said anything like that.

You are correct to identify Cain as a Baptist minister. Today, I read that he was willing to swear on a Bible that he did not have that affair.

... And as a Baptist minister, he knows what the implications of that swearing are.

Do you?

—If you have just one damning text (or call) you’d show it.—

I used to work for the law enforcement relations section of a large cell phone company. What is “easily trackable” is stuff like whether a call or text was incoming or outgoing and what number was on the other end of the communication. Even then, though, you need a subpoena to get it. But this woman has that in her bills.

The content of the tex messages is only available if she has saved them. And if she can show how many there are, it may be from her bill, which does not show the content of the messages.

But When I saw the “to or from” in the original article, my first question was, “so how many are ‘from’”, and what is the timing relative to the “to’s”?

Whenever I read a story that causes me to ask more questions than it answers, I smell manipulation.

Thank you.

I’m amazed at the outright hatred some on this thread have toward this man and how it blinds them so they don’t even look for the truth.

That having been said, I do have doubts about his abilities. And I am definitely not in support of a new means of taxation to fix our economic problems (as he proposes).

He has NO political experience or track record and has never had to create or enact policy of any kind in his life. Hence he has no track record, and no track record of even having to make anything other than talk-show-host type opinions on anything.

As for his successful industries, aside from his employment as a paid lobbyist, why don’t you do a little research on an energy investment scheme with which he was involved only a few years ago...which collapsed and where much of the money mysteriously disappeared.

I was so angry at him when this latest woman stepped forward Um, so any liar can step forward and manipulate you that easily? ... Your own words indict you more than a man being lied about. You were so ready to believe this latest DNC mouthpiece? Really? ... Which candidate are you supposedly supporting with your trashing of Herman Cain? Disgusting how easily some posters are manipulated by the lies spittled from the DNC sewer.

They are not naive and manipulated.

They just want Cain out of the race.

They don’t care about facts.

Are you really THIS clueless? What do you think it takes to be a successful CEO of large corporations? Corporations have employment policies, investment policies, operating policies, etc. etc. There is not that much difference between a managerial CEO and a managerial President. The skill sets are remarkably similar.

As for his successful industries, aside from his employment as a paid lobbyist, why don’t you do a little research on an energy investment scheme with which he was involved only a few years ago...which collapsed and where much of the money mysteriously disappeared.

I will check that out.

Sorry that I didn't bookmark the post but a Cain supporter used that VERY comment in the days after the first set of accusations and when I called him on it sveral others chimed in with their own comments using the same analogy. I don't expect you to believe me if you didn't see it but it's been done on here and it's a damned shame.

I think it is refreshing to hear someone measure Mr. Cain by assessing the merits of his proposals. I understand your reservations.

I am OK with the 9-9-9 because it is a genuine new idea, but I would be on fire for him to propose the FairTax. I am also a realist about the likely hood of 9-9-9 passing through the legislature in it current form.

I think his executive abilities suit him well for the office, and I expect him to appoint quality advisers as well as delegate properly.

I am not attached to him as the only one for the job, but IMHO, he is the best we have in this race now.

I wonder what the DNC is paying this woman? It better be a lot because she is serving their interests well. IF she has ANY proof (A blue Dress or something) she better present it now. Cain is the New Sarah Palin. The MSM will destroy any GOP leader. Just wait for what they have planned for Mittens?

I do recall Cain making the remark. And I’ve been around FR long enough to know some of the remarks that some make here.

Point taken. ‘Pod.
