Its been almost two years since I posted at Big Hollywood regarding the Top 10 Most Overrated Directors of All Time. Ive had a chance to reflect and think about the crimes I committed in that post. And, to paraphrase Mr. Eko from the greatest TV show of all time, Lost, I ask no forgiveness because I have committed no sin except leaving Spike Lee and Tim Burton off the list, that is.
So, because you all enjoyed that list so much, and because I apparently have a death wish, its time for another: The Top 10 Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time

It was okay. Nothing special to me, and I’m a golfer. All I really remember was Costner saying “Gimme another ball” 243 times. (And in in Bull Durham he said “Give me the ball” 127 times.)
I don’t think Reeves is considered to be a good actor in the first place. Therefore can’t be overrated. Party On Rufus......
>>How was Keanu Reeves missed?<<
Your question answers itself! (lol)
Curly Bill! I love it when Powers Boothe is firing his pistols and howling at the moon.
That is so true!!
The little squirt Tom Cruise should be on it.....
Dustin Hoffman was great in ‘Tootsie’.
I agree with you about Oldman! And, Downey (was glad he rehab’d so could come back).
I never liked Clooney until “Up in the Air.” I thought he was amazing in that, reminded me of the “old days” actors.
This is true.You got me.
my head’s in the clouds.Sorry!
Sean Penn, Julia Roberts, Will Farrell, Meg Ryan, George Clooney, Cher, Richard Dreyfus, Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon,Lindsey Lohan,Jennifer Anniston and Danny DeVito.
I forgot about Keanu, thank you for reminding me Powersboothfan.
I haven’t seen Keanu in awhile. Obviously out of sight, out of mind.
I have been busy watching a lot of movies lately.
I did meet Gary Oldman in person recently. He is a very nice guy.
As far as GOOD actors are concerned, another favorite of mine is Bob Gunton. He and Powers Boothe are great.
Ooo! Do tell.
Will Ferrell is about as funny as a bout of vomiting, especially when your stomach is empty...
... yet Tombstone, in big part because of Val Kilmer's performance, just hit bulls-eye in the minds of so many Americans of all stripes. I remember going to it for the third time in a low-rent Mexican neighborhood buck-a-show matinee about six weeks after original release. The theater was about two-thirds full, a weekend afternoon. All different ages and colors of people. About three rows behind us three American Mexican teenage pals were sitting together, and had clearly seen the movie before. When Wyatt cuffs ol' Johnny Tyler the bully dealer in the Oriental and Johnny hesitates, Wyatt asks: "You gonna do something or just stand there and bleed?" the three boys chimed in. It made the movie more fun.
There's almost a cult around Tombstone. I wonder, WHY? With all its flaws, why does it resonate so deeply with so many Americans?
Because there were two women?
Regards,
GtG
That and she aint all that
