LOS ANGELES -- Comedian Eddie Murphy has withdrawn as host of the 84th annual Academy Awards following the resignation of the show's producer, Brett Ratner.
Ratner pulled out of the show Tuesday amid controversy over his use of the word 'fag' 'during a Q&A following a screening of his new movie, "Tower Heist" on Friday.
Today, Academy President Tom Sherak announced that Eddie Murphy has withdrawn as host.

Hubby and I saw “Tower Heist” at a screening.....very entertaining movie, laughed most of the way through it......
These are often college educated white collar people I hear engaging in it.
Lest you forget, the Second Klan was centered around Indiana and the temperance movement (Klan backed) was headquartered in Central Ohio.

It’s amazing, all of this over the word “fag”. Did anyone happen to notice Ratner talking about performing oral sex on Lindsay Lohan “when she was really young” and “before she had any hair down there” on the Stern show? Unreal.
Of course, this is the same Oscars show that honors Roman Polanski, so I’m sure that doesn’t bother them in the least.
Yeh- You know the awards will be given to movies that nobody has seen. What's the point?
Or change the names of the categories to what they "really" are:
Best Portrayal/Promotion of Homosexual Lifestyle.
Best Gay character.
Best Supporting Gay Character.
Best Gay Actor/Actress.
Best Trashing of Traditional American Values/America.
Best Promotion of Socialism/Communism.
Special Category: 60's/Hippies- Best Portrayal of 60's /Hippies.
Best Trashing of Conservatives/Republicans.
Best Christian Bashing.
Best Promotion/Portrayal of Sexual Perversion/Pedophilia or Other Deviant Sexuality.
Best Promotion of Over-the-Top/Excessive Gross Violence .

Do a little reading about the Klan in Indiana and you will find that it was a movement to sucker some money out of the recruited membership. Read “The Klan and Notre Dame”. D.C. Stephenson was a con man more than anything.
