Ok, this has been bothering me. According to Wikipedia, Cain became CEO of the NRA in 1996 until 1999. This is a 3 year span out of all his 40 something years of being in the workforce. This is when all these supposed sexual harassments took place, right? So my question is--why would he suddenly become a pervert during these 3 years and no other time?
Actually I am disputing that.
How do you know there were two cases? Because Politico told you so?
Politico said today they have not been able to talk to the second source since the original phone call with her two weeks ago.

Quite your whining. I know your a Cain fanatic, but whining at other people isn't going to make Herman's problems go away. There were very definitely 2 harassment charges leveled against Cain that resulted in cash payouts. That means the original Politico story IS largely accurate as it did not get into any specific. It is good this story came out when it did, because there is no way it would have remained a secret through a general election campaign had Cain won the nomination.
I just gave Cain the benefit of the doubt and suggested that maybe he just has a flirtatious personality, and here you are crying again. Just grow up already. The issue is out there and you do your man Cain no good by bellyaching at anyone who offers opinions about what might have happened.

How about a female employee whose work was not meeting the standards. She knew she was going to be let go for incompetence so decided to go for broke - claim sexual harassment naming the CEO. She got an extra year’s salary from the “settlement” (minus whatever the lawyer took).
Are the 2 harassment claims even in question? I mean the fact that they occurred.
The AP has even gone so far as to detail how these two women are thriving professionally. I've seen no media outlet that even questions that part of the story.

Not good enough. WaPo could have claimed 100 women settled cases based on their criteria.
Only one set of paperwork has appeared, today, from the NRA. If there is another woman wants to come forward with paperwork, great.
If not, then it is all hearsay.
Have you ever seen so many high principled, high falutin’ source requests on FR, before? We conservatives are quickly learning to use those Alinsky diversion tactics, only it’s now against each other. LOL!
Eyewitness accounts of Wilson, Deakes, and others at cocktail hour with Herb must be mocked outright if allowed to be mentioned at all, and certainly can not be mentioned on FREE REPUBLIC without a poster with a differing opinion from the high handed, high headed having to “name your source”. Like we’re all a bunch of high minded journalists with staff! LOL! Our culture is cannibalized and we are now starting to be imploded right here.

I happen to know Mr Cain...have for over 7 years now....
He is NOT a flirtatious guy....he is friendly and likable, but not flirty....
In fact, he has more integrity than any other man I have ever known....I don’t like the way Block tried to finger Perry— that honestly ticks me off....my head exploded when I heard about that....and ultimately Cain is responsible for what Block does or says on his behalf....

Source the truth to that thar’ statement please. The part about where you refer to me personally; as in, “me” holding “everybody else” to some kind of standard. Get “me” 500 words on that term paper requirement, would you please, and with sources by gosh, that formed your opinion. We don’t know if they were legit claims or not.
Do consider that the NRA is located in Washington DC, both of these women have gone on to a career in politics.

That would be my inclination, but I guess we'll have to see how this plays out. IMO, he certainly could use a little advice on how to handle fake media storms.
I made a similar comment on another Cain thread...you are exactly right. North and south; I've lived in both, and they are two separate and distinct cultures. Another item I have noted...northern people use the 'f' word in every day conversation; whereas I only heard the 'f' word ONCE in ten years down south, and that was from the lips of a Tennessee gal after LSU intercepted a Vols pass late in the game to seal the victory for the Tigers. I felt bad, so I didn't call her on it. :-)

The law only exists to make lawyers and judges rich. “Real” harassment can be prosecuted as “assault and battery”—they don’t need a whole new batch of laws for speech codes and government intrusion into business.
It is just all about power to control people. More laws eliminate virtue, never increase it, because there are always ways to get around the law and use it to get your enemies or make yourself rich.

D.C. is a cesspool, and its effluent spills over into the national political scene as a matter of course. Do we really, really want people thriving in that sort of environment determining our political future ? >PS
