Remarkable New Tea Party Candidate for Congress
A remarkable businessman from Dubuque, Iowa has announced he is running for the Republican nomination to Iowa's new First Congressional Disrtict.
Rod Blum is no career politician. Rod Blum stands with the Tea Party, and has spoken at Tea Party rallies in his hometown.
If you would like to check out his campaign web site, just go to http://www.rodblum.com/index.shtml
And if you want to know what Rod Blum is REALLY all about, click on the link to "The Rebound" at http://www.rodblum.com/therebound.shtml and you will read an amazing story.
Can you kindly provide some background/context...?
Iowa's districts were just redrawn. Is the 1stCD in play? Who's the current rep, and does your guy face a GOP primary?
I’m sure Toyko Rove will soon come on Fox with his cheap white posterboard and tell why this candidate cannot win.
Only more credible tea party congressmen and women can save this nation now.
The winner of the primary election will take on Congressman Bruce Braley, the author of “Cash for Clunkers” and a member of Nancy Pelosi’s inner circle
In 2006, Barley won with 55% of the vote ( replacing long time GOP rfep Jim Nussle, who ran and loast for governor) In 2008, with the Dem surge, he won with 64% of the vote..Last time, 2010,, he didn't even get a majority, just squeaked by with 49.5% to 47.5 for the GOP candidate.
Is the Republican, Lange, running again?
Lange hasn’t officially declared, but he just announced an exploratory committee.
Thanks. If he came that close, hard to believe he won’t run again..usually, after losing a squeaker like that, and given the GOP trend, you figure he’s been running for over a year..
The problem is that all the lines are being redrawn/augmented since IA is losing a seat, so ones that are unfavorable for one party or the other can cause a potential candidate to reconsider. IA Democrats are determined to claim the 2 GOP-held seats, as Leonard Boswell is running against Tom Latham and the former First Lady Christie Vilsack is running against Steve King. If I had to venture a guess at the moment, it’ll probably be a 2D-2R tie (barring a drastic change in the political climate).
Many thanks..I thought that might be it. KIndly ping me if you post more about tthe races.
OK, sure thing.
