When FBI agents train bank tellers to identify counterfeit bills, they show them both fake money and real money, and they study both. To detect a counterfeit problem, they must look for the differences in the genuine bill compared to the counterfeit—and not the similarities.

In 1 John 2, the apostle John helps to protect believers from heresy by showing them examples of counterfeit Christians and teachers. One of the signs of the last days is the coming of antichrists (1 John 2:18). Antichrists are those who claim to have His power and authority but don’t, or those who reject and oppose Him and His teachings.

John gave three marks of false teachers who are controlled by the spirit of the antichrists: They depart from the fellowship (v.19), they deny Jesus as the Messiah (v.22), and they draw the faithful away from Jesus (v.26). He encouraged believers to protect themselves against the spirit of the antichrists by depending on the indwelling presence of the Spirit, knowing the truth, and remaining in fellowship with Jesus.

We can protect ourselves from error and deception by knowing the false but relying on the Truth—Jesus Christ.

~A Bed in the Leaves~

My yard is full of leaves today
Brown and yellow and gold
I think I'll rake them in a pile
Higher than my head

Then I'll pretend it is my bed
I'll jump in very quick
And pile their leaves up over me
For covers soft and thick

I'll just lie there so nice and warm
And look up in the sky
And watch more leaves float down for me
To rake up bye and bye

Happy 54th Anniversary

Dear Amy and Mr Just

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY,
MR. AND MRS. JUST!

Grandma and Grandpa were celebrating their fifty-fourth anniversary.
The couple had married as childhood sweethearts
and had moved back to their old neighbourhood after they retired.

Holding hands, they walked back to their old school.
It was not locked, so they entered,
and found the old desk they'd shared,
where Andy had carved "I love you, Sally."

On their way back home, a bag of money
fell out of an armoured car, practically landing at their feet.
Sally quickly picked it up and,
not sure what to do with it, they took it home.
There, she counted the money -
fifty thousand dollars!

Andy said, "We've got to give it back."

Sally said, "Finders keepers."
She put the money back in the bag
and hid it in their attic.

The next day, two police officers
were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the money,
and knocked on their door.
"Pardon me, did either of you find a bag
that fell out of an armoured car yesterday?"

Sally said, "No".

Andy said, "She's lying. She hid it up in the attic.

Sally said, "Don't believe him, he's getting senile."

The agents turned to Andy and began to question him.
One said: "Tell us the story from the beginning."

Andy said, "Well, when Sally and I
were walking home from school yesterday . . ."

The first police officer turned to his partner and said,
"We're outta here!"

like the counterfeit, the churches today, and the pastors, give a general truth and water it down to where the messages are feel good examples in daily living. Nothing is held up as evil, not dressing immodestly (when do we ever hear or see this behavior today(modesty)). Ours is a congregation of kind loving people, actively supporting missionary woks all around the world, as well as doing good works and being generous. I am a supporter of the Salvation Army. Amazingly it has come to my attention that they no longer give the message of the Gospel when people come to be fed. I have questioned this when sending in a contribution. No response. It likely a volunteer opening and sorting mail ...

The gradual elimination of all things Christian is happening before our eyes. In schools, in government offices, prayers not allowed in Arlington Cemetery without submitting it before hand for approval and must be delivered exactly as approved.

We have strayed far from the United States Constitution.

God forgive us, help us to make a difference for thee and to stand strong in these days, in Jesus name amen.
