Halloween movie recommendations?

Posted on 10/26/2011 1:22:51 PM PDT by djf

For sure, "The Exorcist" is on the list. Also, "Rosemary's Baby", one of the all time scariest movies ever.

I suppose if I really wanted to get scared, I could cue up a bunch of Progressive Commercials with that Flo dame. She is definitely related to the folks in "Night of the Living Dead"

Blair Witch Project? (That movie is scary, but they really didn't have any good reason to go down the profanity route so much...) Thumbs DOWN!!

I'm all ears!!

Yes, what an understated but well done film. I was intrigued by the Channel Islands, where all those cows come from :-)

For those who prefer to celebrate Reformation Day, Luther (2003? is good as well.

Exactly right. I remember envisioning out-of-retirement James Cagney and Cary Grant for the two main leads as I was reading it.

1932, directed by Carl Th. Dreyer.

Absolutely terrifying classic.

Agreed. Even if the styles are now dated, they totally work in that movie. Really fun to watch.

This movie scared the bejebbies out of me when I first saw it as a kid. I found it on cable last year and, it is still pretty scarey.

Classic!
