I woke up about 15 years ago and stopped watching any entertainment based upon shock value and/or making the dysfunctionality of the American family the topic of their jokes. From shows like the Family Guy to the Simpsons to the Howard Stern show they all lower the moral fabric of America and promote the liberal left-wing culture of hate and anti-family , anti-Life.

The “skateboard” episode—early on, the episode where Bart was going to do some dangerous skateboard stunt. His father forbid him to do it—and Bart basically told Homer_I will do what I want—and you can't stop me!! Homer's reaction—sit at the table and CRY!! I guess that is the most authority he felt he had over his son!!
That was the end for me, I had already been disappointed by other episodes—and that was the final straw.

I tried watching The Simpsons once in 1999. Bart’s foul, smart-aleck mouth made the show unwatchable for me. I turned the channel after 10 minutes and haven’t watched it since.

Used to be a Simpsons fanatic, but the show became unwatchable after Conan O’Brian left as story editor. The “Mr. Plow” episode will always be my fave!

Back in the early 90s it was my favorite show. I can remember being in the North Carolina Mountains and the TV would not pick up the show so I took a tiny portable and walked around until I found a spot where it would come in fairly clear.
Right from the start I knew it was basically typical liberal nonsense but it was different in one way. They would sometimes make fun of liberals too.
There wasn’t a point where I just stopped watching it. It just got to where it wasn’t as good as it had been. Every now and then I would still watch an episode and even every now and then they would be good.
Finally tho it got to where it just was too liberal and not that good either.

Can't stand the sit-coms and animating the garbage doesn't improve it.

I stopped watching cartoons when I grew out of childhood (except for a few with the grandkids).

I prefer the "Plow King", personally, because:

Didn’t even get through the first episode. First thing that turned me off was the crappy artists. Second was the moronic voice of the dad. Third was the humor... or should I say... lack of humor.

20 years ago I'd say that's about right. It was amusing until about the mid-90s for me. Then it went downhill. Its time for it to go.

I've never watched that show so I would say...before the show even began.
The previews were enough to turn me off.

Obviously you don’t get it. Warner Brothers cartoons were never intended for children as were most cartoons created during the 20s and 40s and to some extent the 50s.
The Flintstones were intended for adults and came on during primetime. The same holds true for Animaniacs, the Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park and a host of others.

Funniest show on television back when Phil Hartman was still alive and doing the voices of Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. The show never recovered from his death in 98'
