I stopped watching cartoons when I grew out of childhood (except for a few with the grandkids).

Obviously you don’t get it. Warner Brothers cartoons were never intended for children as were most cartoons created during the 20s and 40s and to some extent the 50s.

The Flintstones were intended for adults and came on during primetime. The same holds true for Animaniacs, the Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park and a host of others.
