A republican friend of mine is pissed off at me because I told them straight up that if Romney got the nomination, he won't get my vote. I'm not cutting off my nose to spite my face. So then the usual lecture came out "if you vote third party or stay home, what you're really doing is voting for obama".
I thought to myself about this prospect. Really?
If I vote zero times for Romney, I'm really voting once for Obama?
So then obviously, if I vote once for Obama, I'm really voting twice for Obama?
This is truely interesting math indeed.
You need to look up the definition of “participate”, FRiend. You want to define it as “voting in the election”. That serves your purposes well.
I am participating, starting with making the effort to explain such intricacies as the definition of “participate” to you.
You are entirely correct that there is no “perfect” candidate. There are, however, unacceptable candidates. I’m sorry your standards are so low that you don’t mind lending your name, efforts, and vote to whatever is less bad than the worst.
The next phase of my own participation is to work as hard as I can to ensure that those few unacceptable candidates are not selected. Being a conservative, I would like to see a nominee that will move the ship away from the lip of the liberal falls we are approaching. Slowing the rate of approach does not prevent the ship from going over.
Have a good day.

Seriously? Hah! That's too funny! You can define "participate" any way you want. But, if you decide to "participate" by not voting, you are forfeiting the only "participation" in the process that counts thus allowing those you disagree with to have total control over who gets elected and who doesn't. Brilliant!
Do it your way, I really don't care. Just don't complain.
Good luck with that!
