I don’t have a clue what you mean by “throwback” within this context. Both drinks are currently offered and have been for some time.

We have and really like the Mountain Dew. Just picked up a 7up Retro 12 pack. We can really tell a difference as well.

My bet is they contain sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.

Cane sugar?

I tried a cane sugar Pepsi several months ago, and yes, the difference was very noticeable.

The companies have started selling the original formulation for a limited time in some markets in addition to the regular formulations. The most notable difference is using sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.

Yep. I love Passover, when Coca-Cola rolls out kosher Coke made with sugar. When I was working at the grocery store we would swarm the Coke guy to grab us each a couple two-liters before it went out onto the floor.

“throwback refers to the use of plain old White sugar vice HFCS in the berverage.

Tried Pepsi and Mt. Dew. The tase is surprising, real sugar makes a BIG difference. It reminds me of the way it USED to taste, which is terrific, but a ton of calories.

I only drink diet sodas BUT my son and husband swear that the throwback soft drinks are remarkably better tasting. How they describe the taste is “cleaner” and doesn’t have an after taste. I usually look for the throwback Mountain Dew or the throwback Dr. Pepper sodas.

I had a throwback Pepsi, tasted just like Pepsis did back when I decided they were gross and I didn’t like them.

The Mexican Coke we get here in AZ has sugar. We prefer it greatly, although it is more expensive (it comes in glass bottles).

To me, the can sugar variety tastes much better. They’re not quite as sweet and they seem fizzier.

We usually get Dublin Dr. Pepper when in North Texas, but I haven’t seen throwback DP around here. I hope we get it.
