The White House physician, Navy Capt Jeffrey Kuhlman, said Obama should stick with 'moderation in alcohol intake' and ‘smoking cessation efforts’, the use of nicotine gum, and come back in August 2011 after he turns 50.It says he's due for a checkup about now...we'll have to see if anything public surfaces.

Here's another fun but completely unsubstantiated tidbit from a comment someone left after a Newsweek article about Barack Obama Sr. All comments have been removed from the original article, so once again the only remnant of it is on Free Republic at this link.

In at least two occasions, Da Prez has gotten so incredibly drunk and violent, he’s actually had to be removed from by the Secret Service. Wow, that must’ve been awkward. Just wait until the books come out - after 2012, that is.”

Frank Bowen’s Family Systems Theory would predict such a thing. Escape via alcoholism and/or drug use runs on both sides of Obama’s family.
