Agree with those! Plus, love the “Let the sun Shine In” chorus from Hair.

No shame there, great song...though the bay they talk about in the song is San Francisco Bay, it always reminds of Casco Bay in Maine.

Midnight Oils followup single, The Dead Heart is even better, but didnt sell nnearly as well in the States. Dead Heart is probably my favorite Oils song as well. "Dreamworld" is another good one.

During the 90s, Slaughter came out with an awesome version of Youre so Vain.
I think that was Faster Pussycat.

Lets Get Drunk and Screw Buffett!
If you’ve ever been, you’ll never forget 10,000 drunks on the lawn at Merriweather Post Pavilion standing, swaying, singing “Why don’t we get drunk...and screw!”
It’s a beautiful thing.

Jam up and Jelly Tight, I thought I was the only one who remembers that one! Before that one Dizzy, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU_rqm7WPPI&feature=related was another big hit for Tommy Roe. Don't know if any of these were already mentioned, but speaking of "Bubblegum music",
yummy yummy yummy, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Zs8qbExfs

A bit abashed about publicly admitting to liking this one: The Archies' Sugar Sugar A bubblegum classic, check out the late great Wilson Pickett's
cover. This song was meant to be sung by a Black guy.
To: Impala64ssa
Fervent thanks to Pickett for forever redeeming the song.

We have an oldies station in the Hudson Vly, that at times puts the “bubblegum music” and novelty tunes in heavy rotation. their slogan used to be “crank it up, embarass your kids”.

And speaking of my neck of the woods, Pt. Jervis, NY has a few claims to fame, among them, Stephen Crane wrote The Red Badge of Courage while living here, and The Kalin twins were born and raised here, their one smash hit from 1959, When http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G55yNWCnXTI Sadly they passed away a few yrs ago within a few months of each other.
