Yes, the recipients showing up for the news cameras are all pitiful and needy.....cancer, 6 children, 8 children......blah blah blah....not one baby daddy in the bunch....

I can't tell you how many times I've stood behind these leeches at WM with one or two carts full of junk food, soda pop, etc. whipping out their "Peach Cards" and swiping them through the machine without a care in the world....their bill? Not a damned thing. They piss and moan because they have to buy their cigs with cash....

I was behind one lady that was evidently having a gourmet meal dinner party that night - bill almost $300. She was dressed to the nines. After I finished paying cash for my stuff and I followed her out, she drove off in a brand new Escalade with Chrome 22s....

This is disgusting. That news report is a harbinger of what's going to happen when there really is no money instead of a computer glitch. The entitlement mentality was patently evident, and the undertone of violence was even more evident.

Years ago, B4 the discreet plastic cards that can pass for customer loyalty cards or credit cards, these recipients had to keep a little booklet and tear out a little ticket that was stamped with amounts in dollar increments. Most could not do the math, to figure out that you needed 4 - $25 tickets to pay for a $100. order. Oi!

While behind a large order checking through, the cashier announced to the woman customer that you can't buy dog food [she had put a large 40# bag on the belt]...clerk asked the woman if she could put it aside, and pay cash for it later. The customer said she didn't want it and told one of her kids to run to the back of the store and bring the largest package of hamburg he could find. She held up the line, while we waited for the kid to come with the dog's hamburg.

It was all I could do to not say something...it would have caused a riot, I just turned around and rolled my eyes to the person behind me in line.

I want someone to pay for my housing, medicine/medical, utilities, food. I've been a productive member of society all my life. Just dang.

Sadly, I think the common thinking in DC is that welfare is a payoff to keep these people from rioting.
