I did not have to show up in person at any SS office anywhere. Everything was done over the Net or by mail.

Yeah, the video shows they can get real agitated real quick. 20, 75, 85, and 400 mean they can move far fast into “rich” areas - may be stopped quick too, but not before doing some serious damage. The key takeaway from that video is the rapid assignment of blame, regardless of reasoning (or lack thereof).

What I can’t tell at this point is whether there is much of a real growth of, um, agitation out there, or whether it’s too much hype focused on a few relatively small instances (ex.: I’m seeing the same few London videos over and over). Can’t quite wrap my head around the dichotomy of a few incidents blown out of proportion (say, this short video may be the extent of the agitation) vs human tolerance of large scale horrors (for most subject to brutal dictatorships etc, every day is still mundane).

It’s a short trip up 400 from downtown...

We need to make long term contraception mandatory for receiving any kind of welfare benefits.

And no voting privileges. Period.

Lots of little towns like mine are pretty welcoming in times of need.

Kind of a drive but I have relatives and friends in Aroostook County ME. A little town called Houlton...mighty far from anywhere.

Houlton, ME

The manager there said some of these people may have had their benefits cut off by mistake.

Here's another way that can happen ~ particularly where you have the county welfare office affiliated with the food stamps office with the Medicaid office (different people but same building or complex so that you have a one-stop service situation).

It just so happens I was involved in whacking the welfare benefits of 1/2 of the then recipients ~ in the entire United States. We did it in less than a month!

There's an old welfare rule established in the Roosevelt Regime ~ if you are a welfare recipient and you submit a CHANGE OF ADDRESS ORDER with the Post office (then Post Office Department, now USPS) you must come in to a CASE WORKER for a review of your eligibility ~ in the meantime your benefits are CUT OFF.

We were implementing Move Update ~ a regulation that required folks mailing presort rate First Class Mail to have their mailing lists brought up to date in accordance with the Change of Address Orders filed by delivery customers.

Well ~ guess what ~ there were hundreds of thousands of welfare recipients who'd relocated.

BTW, the fact that a welfare recipient moves was in Roosevelts day and is today the first indicator that they no longer qualify for welfare!

The first time a welfare list was updated with a MoveUpdate file half the cases got dropped.

I was there.

EVERYBODY went "hey, hey, hey ~ look at that".,

Word spread fast.

Congress took the credit ~ but WE KNOW it wasn't Congress!

Now, for why those ladies were down at that office ~ they wanted to see a CASE WORKER ~ and the case worker was on leave, or their own personal case worker had been furloughed (temporarily laid off, or given one day a week off, unpaid).

This is an ordinary situation and the people called in for a case review (or who ignored the notice and just didn't appear until the benefits dried up) will always lay the blame on the bureaucracy for making a mistake.

Maybe not. The lady with the 16 kids or whatever may have run out of kids to claim. The lady with her medicaid claim may have been cured of her cancer. We don't really know. At the same time the guy running the office there seems both unperturbed (they hire people for that job who can do that) and yet totally clueless about what happened.

Somebody else in that office knows what happened ~ SOMEONE MOVED and the gravy train stops until they prove their eligibility.

Hmm ~ muy interesante ~ give us the trick since the law requires you to PROVE YOUR IDENTITY. Were you in the Philippines at a VA center, or in a hospital? Those are ways to avoid going to a Social Security Administration site.

Saw a story on Millen, GA last night. Looks like it has potential for survivors.

I am not as condemning of these people as some here. These problems didn't start with the current generation and can't be solved by most of them at their end. Yes, they should exercise personal responsibility re numbers of offspring and willingness to work but many of us have seen the same tendencies in our own extended families. I've noticed a few overweight white people as well, and not just in the urban core. The state practically forces poor people to accept the benefits -- I have seen this with my own eyes. A hard-selling car salesman could learn more aggressive techniques from state services workers.

OTOH, rioting, looting, and property destruction when things don't work out as planned -- that's worth all the criticism in the world.

LOL! I grew up across the line in occupied Canada, in the town of Woodstock, New Brunswick. Got my high school diploma there. It's 10 miles from Houlton and half of one town is married to the other. Believe me, if the SHTF, either town will come to the aid of the other.

I had fraternity brother from Millen. Great little town. Has a state park (Magnolia Springs SP I think) and had a prison camp during the civil war.

Right here: http://www.ssa.gov/info/isba/retirement/firstpartyrib.htm "We may need to see certain documents in order to pay benefits. A list of documents we need to see will appear at the end of the application, along with instructions on where to submit them. The documents we may ask for are:

your original birth certificate or other proof of birth [more info] (You may also submit a copy of your birth certificate certified by the issuing agency).;

your original citizenship or naturalization papers [more info]; a copy of your U.S. military service paper(s) (e.g., DD-214 - Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) if you had military service before 1968; [more info]; and

a copy of your W-2 form(s) [more info] and/or self-employment tax return [more info] for last year.

Note: If our records show that documents proving age or citizenship/naturalization have already been submitted for an earlier Medicare or Social Security claim (such as Disability, Supplemental Security Income, etc.), you do not need to submit the documents again.

Now, getting your documents back ~ this site used to tell you "months" ~ now it says they will be "returned".

One little question and you'll have to go down there ~ and did you check the appeals process?

‘The sistahs used to do “day work”, but LBJ fixed that.”

That is EXACTLY right. Without welfare does anyone think we’d have to import MILLIONS of Mexican illegals to do yard work, hotel work, restaurant work?

No, no we would not.

Call me a racist, I don’t care.

It’s the truth.

Does anybody think this whole edifice of B*llsh*t can last much longer?

No, no it can’t.

Obama is the apogee of liberalism in American.

Apre lui, le deluge.

I've had this discussion with some local Union Loving libtards. They laugh at the Philly Flash mobs and the riots in the UK. When I explain the same could happen here they scoff.

Yet, our county is one of the poorest in Ohio with another county just as poor on our border. Lots of Food stamps and SSI and Medicaid handouts around here. And when the Gub'ment Checks don't come its gonna be Katie-Bar-the-door.

I just hope the Handout Zombies attack the Libtards first so they can soften 'em up abit before they get around to me.

"Instead of blaming a Democrat from 1968, is it possible to elect a Republican President who can change this crap?"

Wow, you BOTH need a refresher course in American Government/Civics...

The cops will be on the wrong side. They will come to take your means of survival. Search warrants will be legal niceties overlooked because of the demands of martial law. When the pigs show up, you need to use your ammo. Or lose it, and your life, forever.
