Vice-Presidential candidates have to parrot the position of the guy at the top of the ticket....in this case, John McCain.
When Sarah Palin’s first book came out, “Going Rogue,” Sarah was a guest on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show. When Rush asked her about illegal immigration, Sarah said, “They’re called illegal aliens for a reason.”
Let Sarah declare whether or not she’s a candidate for president. If she IS in fact in the race, then she should be asked to clearly state her position concerning the issue of illegal immigration. If she doesn’t run, her position on this subject doesn’t really matter.
She was McCain’s VP candidate and had to hew the McCain line on that issue. VP candidates don’t have their own platform to run on.
You need to ask her now where she stands on immigration, when she is speaking for herself.
Perhaps, but I doubt it. We can deport every last one of them - including rounding them up if we have the will. Eisenhower got rid of several million illegals in operation Wetback. The “we can’t do it” excuse is a lie, and the “it’s inhumane” lie is just an attempt to bully people into accepting illegal entry as fait accompli.
If she is for “a path to citizenship”, she needs to find a path back to Alaska.

However, to may knowledge, she never repudiated her statement of 2008, when she said she was in favor of giving illegals a path to citizenship, as I quoted earlier.
Considering that people drag out Perry’s statements from 10-20 years ago, this was fair.
People should have the same standards for all candidates.
But bashing Perry for less, while giving Palin a pass is not playing fair.
Perry NEVER said he was in favor of giving illegals a path to citizenship.

You *research* is faulty. Sarah Palin has spoken about illegal immigration several times with Greata, Dean Hannity and FYI, *worried* PDSer, former Governor Sarah Palin and Governor Jan Brewer, AZ have their own website promoting AZ IMMIGRATION LAWS, with which Governor Perry takes issue!
You’re too new here to know that it’s not good to try to *start* forum wars.
This is a conservative site —— the premiere conservative site and forum on the whole of the Internet, and when all the candidates have announced, there will be plenty of time for each one to articulate their very own views! Palin had no problem publicly disagreeing with McCain. She certainly did so on multiple occasions regarding drilling in ANWAR. If she differed with him we would no it. She's not exactly timid.
While illegal immigration is a hot issue in Arizona, I doubt it was among the 25 top issues for a Governor of Alaska.
(Hey, if you can swim to Alaska from Mexico, nobody can say you took the easy route)

Perry is very clear on where he will go with the 40 million future Democrats and union-members:
He has supported “comprehensive immigration reform” and the Dream Act.Illegals in TX. and NM both have access to grants also. He is an “integrationist”
I really believe with her statements on “path to citizenship”when she was paired with McCain that she would not do so now. The real key is the money flow. Perry’s is extremely obvious and would explain his punting on ANY ENFORCEMENT WHATSOEVER. With Sara we have a fighting chance.
I am ‘NOT’ starting wars, I don’t even post about Palin. As I said before, I like her, I just don’t think she is running.
What I am tired of is that people keep posting anti-Perry material, bashing him for his stance on immigration, when he had to contend with it in a border state, digging up and posting articles even as thread starters.
Conservatives need to have the same standards for all candidates. Is that too much to expect?
