He deserves it!
Newt was right to attack him and his line of questions. The audience agreed.
This wasn't his tv show. People wanted to hear the candidates discuss important issues.

i agree - Repubs need to deal with questions like this in primary season so the candidate is ready for election season. everyone knows where the press is coming from: it’s up to the candidate to learn how to handle this stuff.
I disagree again....AND....these questions are preparing the candidates for similar questions in future debates with Democrats.
I heard far more substance in the questions this time.

I don’t care for Ed Rollins at all. But he’s a street fighter, so he knows how to prepare his candidate to take the personal assaults. Bachmann’s ‘mutual respect’ blather last night was a perfect example of that.
Christina has always been a Dem party operative who considered herself so Clever and smart.

In a televised political debate with liberal moderators, these kinds of 'gotcha!' questions are almost de rigueur so the candidates should be prepared for them but in this instance, I think Chris Wallace deserved Newt's rebuke. Of course, Newt Gingrich is known for his short fuse and aversion to criticism, another aspect of his personality that often obviates his intelligent approach to weighty matters of state. Newt might be a good candidate for a advisory position in a conservative Republican administration but as a presidential candidate, he is far back in the pack and likely to stay there. As for Chris Wallace, I'm sure he was asking what he thought were relevant questions and, in the process, grooming himself to be chosen to moderate a presidential debate after the GOP convention, when the Republican candidate has been chosen. That probably won't happen but for the candidates in Iowa last night, thanks to Chris Wallace, they got a taste of what to expect if any one of them should capture the Republican presidential nomination: hardball politics.

It's unlikely that Chris Wallace sat in his office and intentionally wrote questions to help prepare the candidates for the tough questions later down the road.
He was looking to embarrass... he was trying to get some soundbites so they could be used as promotions.
It backfired on Fox horribly. And I am a BIG Fox Fan. I only watch Fox News.

Michelle Bachmann was just....okay. Nothing big.
The media claims Romney won. I saw a fake when I saw Romney.
Pawlenty was the second biggest loser next to Fox. he attacked Bachmann.
Cain was good. I’d put him as number 2 or 3 as a winner.
Because then he would be "President". That's how.
Romney did not look comfortable.
Cain looked a little out of his league. I generally like him, but he’s not ready for prime time - he defintiely needs work on foreign affairs. Maybe next election cycle.
I thought Santorum came off well (when they finally got around to asking him a question - what was it 40mins into the debate before he got his 1st question?), and though I don’t like Huntsman, he actually came off pretty well too.
I don’t know why you people are surprised by this?
Wallace is limousine liberal and the son of the leftist Mike Wallace from 60 Minutes.
Do you really think he is Conservative or will treat Obama the same way?
