Have you ever dreamed of having “different” pizza toppings?

Maybe you’ve wanted to try some new and usual pizza toppings - but were afraid to make it?

Here’s your chance to break out the of traditional pizza routine and go wild!

Maple Grove Patch, along with Chanticlear Pizza, is sponsoring a “Most Bizarre Pizza Toppings” contest. Think of the most bizarre, crazy, creative, wild toppings you’d like to add to a pizza.

One person will win a chance to make a pizza with their bizarre toppings, a pizza party (valued at $50) and have their picture or video with their bizarre creation on Maple Grove Patch.

If you would like to enter, answer the question: “What is your most bizarre pizza topping combination?” by putting your idea into the comment section on Maple Grove Patch. It’s that simple.

Legal residents over 18 can only enter once every 24 hours. All entries must be received by 8 p.m. Aug. 26, 2011.

And now, for the legal details of the “Most Bizarre Pizza Toppings” contest.

I knew a place in Austin called “Morty’s Pizza King” which advertised 1000s of combinations of pizza toppings, pretty much anything you could think of to put on top of a pizza crust.

The most peculiar were peanut butter and asparagus.

However, Morty wouldn’t make the exotic ones except in a large size, so you had to find other people to go in with you unless you knew you’d like the flavor enough to take it home.

Morty’s went out of business a long time ago but I lament that I never got a chance to try some of the more crazy combinations.

Nothing more bizarre than anchovies belong on a pizza. Once you add all that other stuff, it isn’t pizza any more.

It’s not exactly a bizarre topping, but there’s a place in Brooklyn that does deep-fried pizza.

The rarest thing in the world is a truly fantastic cheese pizza.

I mean the kind that just knocks you back, and forms your perfect pizza memory for the rest of your life.

And then you can never find it again, or anything that matches it.

You know it’s happened to you, too.

My local place knows me as "The Anchovy and Feta Guy." I love it.

You beat me to it!

I was just about to rummage through my Pizza LA menu to see if I could come up with a good one.

My recent favorite has been the surprisingly tasty “bacon, egg, spinach” special. It comes with a peeled soft boiled egg right in the center. I order mine with crunchy garlic chips.

YUCK! I have an extreme dislike for the aftertaste of Feta cheese. The taste is similar to the smell of dirty socks (IMO anyhow).

I’m a traditional pizza topping guy for the most part. Give me fresh uncured pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, red sauce and cheese. Otherwise I will throw down the occasional “white pizza” with chicken, bacon, even artichoke hearts.

Spinach is fine, but keep the fish away AFAIC.

As far as crazy goes, put some buffalo wings right on the pizza, bones and all. and throw some of that blue cheese dressing right on there...
