ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Sarah Palin is a grandmother again.

Kyla Grace Palin was born Saturday to Palin's eldest son, 22-year-old Track Palin, and his new wife, 21-year-old Britta Hanson.

Hanson's mother, Elizabeth Hanson, confirmed the birth and told The Associated Press that the baby girl is "exquisite." At birth, the littlest Palin weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces (3.14 kilograms), according to the maternal grandmother.

"She's adorable," she said Wednesday, adding that the family is doing well. "We're all extremely excited about her arrival."

Sarah Palin, a former Alaska governor and the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, is mulling a possible run for the presidency in 2012. She has not made a public comment about the new addition to the family.

Things weren’t pristine in the ‘old’ days. Girls got preggo and were herded off to pregnant unwed mother’s homes. Adoption was a booming business. Our head cheerleader was preggo, we all knew it. She had an ‘illness’ and had to be ‘quarantined’ for 5 months. We all knew what was going on. LOL!

How did we do it? We were 20, 30 something. I LOVE my kids, but dealing with their little kids is overwhelming.

Yup. My grandmas lucked out. So did all their ancestors.

Some years ago I was out to dinner with my mom. She did this amazing dump of all the family dirt. Had kind of mixed feelings about it. I’m kind of a historian at heart so I was grateful to hear all the stories but on the other hand, not sure I wanted to know all that.

And they’re passing it along.

Good...good for them.

“”Obviously, abstinence until the honeymoon leads to a greatly shortened gestational period - instead of 9 months, it only takes 3 months of pregnancy to make a baby, lol.””

Well, that’s as good an explanation as any. The libs will have fun with it anyway. Might take their mind off that awful mistake in the WH.

Two questions come to mind however, but I bet any objective conservative reading the above excerpted paragraphs can guess what those are without me having to spell them out.

Stone them!

“It exploded, this past decade, the degrading of our culture.”

Yes,yes, people used to not engage in premarital s*x prior to the year 2000.

Right now, I can remember how many grandchildren, great grand children I have. Will ask the wife to add them up for me when she isn't busy.

Have one great grand daughter that I get up at 4am, 5 to 6 days a week, to take care of. She is adorable and smarter than most 8 year olds although she is only 3.

I think the author of the article probably just neglected to say “the former” Britta Hanson.

“”Some years ago I was out to dinner with my mom. She did this amazing dump of all the family dirt””

You’re lucky whether or not you realize it. My mother and her two sisters never revealed anything to their kids. Now they’re all gone and no one to get answers from. My mother raised her three siblings after their mother died at a young age and their father remarried.

Why weren’t we invited in to our grandfather’s house to visit? Why did we have to talk to him in the driveway or the barn while he was milking cows? Why didn’t he ever visit us? Why did our uncle (their brother) join the Army at such a young age (killed on Bataan so no answers from him)? Why did their stepmother never speak to them at family reunions? In short - why was their stepmother such a WITCH??

We asked the questions when they were still with us but they were pros at avoiding direct questions. Doesn’t really make any difference but there’s always a curiosity to be satisfied in any family, I think.

So many stories lost. But not really lost. They are all recorded somewhere.

“”She is adorable and smarter than most 8 year olds although she is only 3.””

I heard tonight from a niece and she woke up this morning to find her 3 year old granddaughter staring in her face. She asked where her mother was and she said “sleeping.” She asked how she got to her house and she said, “I cwossed the woad.”

I would have had heart failure at that point. This is a very small upstate NY town, one I grew up in and we probably didn’t lock our doors then either. My niece’s daughter and SIL live directly across the street from her and apparently both husbands left for work and didn’t lock the doors behind them.

To top it off, the 3 year old had put on a pretty new dress and new shoes that were being saved for starting preschool. She wanted to look nice for her “outing.”

I think some husbands are going to get an earful about leaving their houses unlocked when they leave for work and I hope some childproofing of doors will be done. There are three children in that house and the 3 year old is the youngest. I’ve lived too long (50+ years) in big cities so I can’t imagine not making sure all doors are locked at all times!!
