Because the liberals want to blame EVERYTHING on right wingers, so they can say ‘see. only right wing white men are terrorists’.
You know “Right Wingers”??? They generally want to preserve there own rights by killing children....NOT! For the MSM, if you are not a socialist, you’re a right winger.
In Norway, the terms ‘rightist’ and ‘leftist’ or ‘right’ and ‘left’ , do not have the same meaning they do here in the US.
The media is purposefully NOT explaining this, because they know what Americans will ASSUME in the use of the term ‘rightist’.
There is a recent thread on this subject which explains what the terms mean over there. Apparently, the terms aren’t even correct, but the label stuck.

European “conservatives” also tend to resemble what we’d label democrats. The so-called “far-right” in Europe, are often bands of thuggish “nationalists” who are extremely anti-capitalist. Somehow the idea that “patriotic aka nationalistic” has stuck as a catch all for right wing. Probably because the Marxists were “internationalists.” It’s unfortunate, because I wouldn’t throw groups who are protecting their countries own national interests in with the nut jobs, but so we have it.... if you aren’t multi-culti you’re a fascist. (sarcasm)
