SECRET files which name four new Jack the Ripper suspects will not be released to the public.
Retired murder detective Trevor Marriott has fought to have a 900-page dossier on the 1888 Whitechapel murders released.
But a tribunal last week ruled they must be kept hidden. Scotland Yard said living relatives of the suspects could be attacked.

It added that releasing the papers which name grasses would jeopardise the recruitment of modern-day informants.
Yesterday Mr Marriott, who is writing a book about the Ripper, who was never caught, said: To censor the documents is absurd.
They could help solve the mystery after all this time.
We all know he has the names "Beratis, Kesla" and (wait for it) Redjac!"
How little we knew that it was a bald dweeb...
It was TWO royals and a sort of royal, actually, blamed and then cleared: Prince Albert Edward, the then Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII and his son,Prince Albert Victor, the Duke of Clarence and Avondale.
The Duke of Bedford was also once rumored and them written about in a few books; however, all of this was disproved handily long ago. And no, not through any coverups.
Other royals? If we're talking about Queen Victoria's immediate family, then we'd have to look at the ages and whereabouts of her sons and grandsons, unless you want to include her daughters as suspects.
Many people turned themselves in, at the time; some were looking for a kind of acclaim, some were just nuts, some were people who would do that for just about any crime. Some names were given to the police by people who didn't like that person and wanted to get them in trouble. Some were just guesses by fearful people who had a hunch, or whatever you want to call it. I bet that a lot of the unpublished names fall into that category. And FWIW, this same file has been talked and written about for many decades now.
“Jack the Ripper killed JFK. When will the truth come out?”
With bigfoot hiding on the grassy knoll.
The Duke of Bedford has been rumored and written about, falsely as a suspect, as was Lord Randolph Churchill. Neither or which stands the test of time or inspection of the facts.
Now you are being ridiculous. It was a Yeti.
Actually, Wallis Warfield was a multiple divorcee with a very shaky reputation.
England lucked out as they got the king they really needed (George VI) instead of Edward VIII who became Duke of Windsor. He was a problem his whole worthless life and had to be exiled in fact to Bermuda during WW-2 because he was a NAZI sympathizer. He managed to cause a scandal or two there as well.
Now as to Americans, Diana's mother was an American and that dna has been very beneficial to the Windsor line.
So there! ;^)
My guess is that there is really nothing new to be learned. The only reason why they want to keep it sealed to milk Jack for all the money this mystery generates. It keeps the money coming in. Tourist trade, books, etc.

“Now you are being ridiculous. It was a Yeti.”
A Yeti? That far south? Now who is being ridiculous? If it happened in Seattle I might give it to ya but Dallas?
Many of the aristocracy married Americans.
Churchill, the Astors etc. The problem with her was she was a divorced woman, seen as a golddigger with a questionable past and seen as ‘common’.
Vile woman frankly. Even more pro-nazi than inbred hubby.
Nah, a mixture of the police not being able to handle such a criminal and the ordinaryness of the Ripper, which allowed him to slip away.
Latest?.
Kosminski has been a suspect for many years.
Only thing that links Druitt though is that he committed suicide just after the last killing. Which can easily be coincidence.

Now, considering the fact that Macnaghten had only joined the force six months after Druitt's suicide, you must bear in mind that he was not only a Johnny-come-lately to this case, but having destroyed his supposed "proofs", nobody, now, nor even well over 100 years ago, know what they were.
Still and all, you can believe who you want to, within reason, who actually was the Ripper.
After all this time, I really doubt that we'll ever know WHO Jack The Ripper really was.
Yes, of course Kominski has been bandied about, as the Ripper ( since the time of the murders, actually ), but about a month or two ago, a new book came out, claiming, yet again, that Komonski was indeed THE RIPPER. I plan on getting the book, but as I have yet to read it, I am not going out on any limbs, to agree or not.
Sorry about the misspelling, the second time around.
