The woman, known only as juror number 12 left her job and went into hiding fearing co-workers would 'want her head on a platter'.

Her husband said before leaving she told him: 'I’d rather go to jail than sit on a jury like this again.'

He told NBC News he was worried for her health and had his bags packed ready to leave if his 60-year-old wife's name gets released.

The woman, who moved to Florida from Michigan fled the area, retiring from her job working at Publix Grocery over the phone because she didn't feel safe.

the jury came to a terrible decision and will have to live with the consequences as will CA.

I agree...

I can not believe how vile & cruel FReepers can be... A huge chunk of you have moved TOTALLY out of the “freedom” & constitution column and straight into the “liberal mob rule” one. So it’s now ok to have American citizens terrified of serving on a jury? The alternative is better????

This is disgusting!

Agreed.

Two of the jurors were very strongly avaunt the death penaty. In groups, some people are dominant. I wonder I’f they were.

I am so ashamed that all it took was ONE freakin’ trial, for so called freedom lovers to be willing to hand over one of the fundamental rights protected by the Constitution. Obama didn’t have to do a dadblasted thing, SO CALLED conservatives have let their emotions totally give in to a mob rule mentality.... What will they ever do when, God Forbid, some great emergency causes Obama & the Libs to strip the rest of our rights?? They’ll bow down to the liberals & hand them over just like they are now... Prayers for these jury members.

So jurors who come up a verdict you don’t agree with should be thrown in jail?

Mao, Stalin & Pol Pot would be so proud.

For starters, a mother who did not report her 2-year-old toddler missing for 31 days, then lied and lied and lied and lied and lied about the child’s whereabouts, affected my opinion. A boatload of circumstantial evidence backed it up.

You wanna call that “National Enquirer-BS-hype”? Be my guest.

I detest those who sit in judgement of a juror who was only doing their civic duty. Those people ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Ashton lost this case with a lame prosecution. For example why did he insist on claiming the Duct Tape was a murder weapon? He had no evidence of it. She could have easily killed the child in any number of ways. It left the States case wide open for attack. It allowed the Defense to attack and cast suspicion on George. The Tape could be applied post mortem. Another sitting Duck for Baez. And that is just one tiny thing I see as a Bungled Investigation and Prosecution.

I don't believe there is proof of any problems that this juror had. Her name was not ever released.

One of the ignorant Hags on HLN actually claimed Caysey Hypnotized the Jury because she was sitting across from them. I kid you not.

Prayers for these jury members.

Amen! And to the rest of your post.... Well said!

The easy way out for the jury was to convict. It took courage to judge the case on the evidence. I'm ashamed of and angry at the conservatives who are attacking the jurors. It's really sad.

Why would I call that National Enquirer-BS-hype? The hype came from so many of the soap opera media drawing all kinds of conclusions from these facts and evidence and making it much more than it was.

A lot of people here will never admit it, but they got played by the Nancy Grace types for nothing more than ratings.

I have a good friend I graduated with who lost his (really good) job a while back due to lay offs & had so much trouble finding another one, that he finally went to work at the local Publix so he could FEED HIS FAMILY....and he has a Master’s Degree, so be careful with your assumptions less you make a fool of yourself.

I personally have been out of work for a long time & have a master’s degree also & if I didnt have to pay $600 a month for daycare, you can bet I’d bag groceries in a heartbeat at minimum wage to keep from losing everything I have & feeding my kiddos rice for breakfast, lunch & supper... if that makes me have a low IQ according to you judgemental folks then so be it... At least I’ll have my integrity for not mocking a person for working for a living.

I thought FreeRepublic was all about pulling yourself up when down & not depending on the gov’t. This juror may not be as high & mighty as you, and obviously blessed with the crown jewel of all jobs...but at least she worked an honest job for a living...

The Wall Street Journal requires all of their articles to be properly excerpted. Please make note of it.

You would rather this person go to jail than serve on a jury again SIMPLY BECAUSE you didn’t agree with the verdict.....

I can read just fine. You made yourself clear & it’s nauseating.

Excellant.

Also it is NOT the victim who presses charges.

It is the STATE that presses the charges specific to the crime in the name of the citizens..the STATE has to prove that under the law the person violated the law and present the vidence specific to the charges.
