The woman, known only as juror number 12 left her job and went into hiding fearing co-workers would 'want her head on a platter'.

Her husband said before leaving she told him: 'I’d rather go to jail than sit on a jury like this again.'

He told NBC News he was worried for her health and had his bags packed ready to leave if his 60-year-old wife's name gets released.

The woman, who moved to Florida from Michigan fled the area, retiring from her job working at Publix Grocery over the phone because she didn't feel safe.

No, the law comes to many. True justice is felt by only a few.

As far as your question, it is a fair one. But to mitigate that, that’s what counsel and the judge are for.

If they did not do their job, you are screwed.

The process allows appeal, and that’s is your only hope.

The jurors names should be published. There is no reason for secrecy. Besides, it is illegal to suppress the names of the jurors in a public trial.

I’m glad that members of the press are suing for release of the names.

These 12 people played the game; now they must pay the piper.

Couldn’t even utilize the Amber Alert system at that time, because of the time that had passed. All a moot point. She was thrown in a garbage heap behind the house - oddly enough behind two homes in a straight line. One where a Zenaida lived previously, and another where a Gonzalez lived. She gave clues to the family from the beginning where the baby could be found and destroyed. “close to home”

The prosecution cannot appeal. Casey Anthony is a free woman because of the laws regarding double jeopardy.

Define justice... LOL. You are being silly while trying to sound smart.

Justice comes to many. Not a rare occurrence. But, I would advise you to keep moving the goal posts to what you posted and what my response was to.

They likely knew the ramifications for making a profit off the death. No sympathy here. If you can’t deliberate a month of evidence, then make a hard decision - then you reap what you sow. imo. Hopefully, the profit was worth it. People will forget this case, until the next travesty rears its head. Part and parcel of a flawed system, albeit likely the best system.

Just to be clear, the scenario I posted was NOT the Caylee Anthony scenario, but it was a close mirror of it.

I concur. They didn’t even have time to read the directions...much less CONSIDER them.

What the mother did in this case is beyond evil. To not report a missing child and then go out partying...

I’ve condemned the decision of the Anthony jury since the verdict and will continue to do so as they speak out with their ridiculous defenses and buyers remorse as they are confronted with their idiocy by the public.

Unlike your assumption that people who complain do everything they can to get out of jury duty, like the jury, you are completely wrong. I’ve been called three times in my life for jury duty and went each time. Twice I’ve been picked for trial, once dismissed before they ever got to me. My first trial was a murder case, the second a civil case over a car accident. For the accident case I was voted as the jury foreman. Want to try again and tell me I have shirked my civic duty? And oh yea, we sent the murderer to prison for life and didn’t give the accident “victim” a single dime.

The same people who are insulting and condemning those of us speaking out against this jury have no problem condemning Obama voters, Dem voters and others who makes political decisions they disagree with. God forbid though we speak out against this jury though. We’re a mob, destroying the justice system, dangerous blah blah blah. Talk about hypocrisy.

Justice is what a person feels they should be compensated for, having been harmed by a criminal or civil act perpetrated upon them.

The law may or may not give you the justice you feel you are entitled to.

That is what I mean.

You need to think a bit harder as to what I said, instead of dismissing it so cavalierly.

I am not moving goal posts.

I have seen a lot of people on FR demanding justice for Caylee, becasue that is not what they got in their opinion.

They got the law, rightly or wrongly.

This jury’s combined IQ must have been around 60.

Unlike many on this forum I did not follow this trial at all and only tuned in for the closing arguments. I am one of those lawyers (with over 30 years experience) that so many on this forum love to hate. After the closing argument of the defense counsel, I told my wife that unless the prosecutor rehabilitated its position on rebuttal, the jury would not return a guilty verdict on murder and the best the prosecutor could hope for was manslaughter.

The prosecutor did not rehabilitate its case and the outcome is that she walks.

There are always repercussions with a seriously dumbed-down, lazy society that digs in its heels and refuses to fire up the brain cells.

<><><><>

I’m confused. Do you mean all the folks who were ready to pronounce a guilty verdict before the jury was picked?

You can quote me out of context all you like. It will not change the facts. You might as well misquote the jury and say they found her Guilty. Just leave out the inconvenient Not part. That way maybe you will get over the problems you appear to be having right now. You and others seem obsessed.

I was speaking in general, not specifically of what happened in the Casey trial. I don’t know what the jurors thought on day one, and how that played into their decision.

Error #1 was making it a death penalty case.

They could have gotten her more easily on a manslaughter charge.

Is that the sort of justice system you want, where a jury makes an unpopular decision and then you make their lives hell for having done so? Possibly have their lives taken bevause the popular sentiment disagrees with the decision they made?

I’d think, in your world, I’d rather serve jailtime than risk being on a jury where I might have to make the choice of rendering a popular, but unjust decision or have my life taken because I made what I thought to be a right call, even if it flies in the face of public sentiment.

P.S. I don’t hate lawyers. Without a prosecuting attorney and a defense attorney, there would be no justice system.

With all its flaws, and with some guilty persons going free as well as innocents being convicted, the American justice system is still the fairest on earth.
