Good Morning to all. Closing Arguments are today.

I apologize in advance if you were either left off today's ping list or included in error. I am not at home and forgot to forward my pinglist to my friend's house, so I've had to check some older threads and reconstruct as many names as possible. If I missed you I'm sorry.

I probably won't be able to post much on this thread, but after I am home I will keep my ear to the television/radio for the jury decision, and will ping again when I hear so we can have a discussion thread.

He was sounding like Charlie Brown’s teacher, but all he needs is to hook one jurior.

I served on one jury way back during the Bush-Gore recount and there was none of this stop-start stuff like here. I can’t imagine how the jury feels putting up with this nonsense.

I would think there would be some time between a “possible” verdict of guilty and the penalty phase - maybe a week or 10 days? Anyone know for sure?

Ashton handed Baez nothing. Baez set Ashton up for this when Baez whined like a little girl to the judge after lunch that Ashton kept making faces at him. I was waiting for Baez to next complain that Ashton was looking at him like some idiotic 5 year old kid might do.

The PERFECT setup for later slipping in “laughing guy over there” when Baez KNOWS the judge isn’t watching intently but has been doing things on a computer...I suppose to keep himself from showing any facial expressions if possible.

Let’s face it, Baez didn’t graduate from a law school. He obviously was valedictorian of his class at some Clown College.

I think you are talking about Jane Velez-Mitchell. She’s been around L.A. for a million years, I remember her when she had long hair in a braid back in the ‘80’s, I think. That’s some pretty good plastic surgery she’s had.

Why do you insist on calling the judge Yoda? Do you think a personal attack based on someone's body shape makes you seem more credible? Do you know this judge personally? Do you know the person he cheated on in the 90's or something?

Makes me wonder if the guy put you in jail...

Did you see the replay of Ashton laughing, putting his hand over his mouth? That just isn’t acceptable in a courtroom, no matter how off the walls Baez and his presentation may be. The lead prosecutor is charged with knowing the rules of the courtroom, and in this case violated them. Did Baez handle it properly, either? No. But that one dumb move on Ashton’s part was just not smart.
