Did you see the replay of Ashton laughing, putting his hand over his mouth? That just isn’t acceptable in a courtroom, no matter how off the walls Baez and his presentation may be. The lead prosecutor is charged with knowing the rules of the courtroom, and in this case violated them. Did Baez handle it properly, either? No. But that one dumb move on Ashton’s part was just not smart.

He did laugh and snicker earlier in the summation. Not smart.

It really isn’t acceptable to say “...cut the cheese” in a courtroom either if you want to be fair about this. THAT is what Ashton laughed at some time back and I would have laughed at such vulgarity coming out of a supposedly educated professional, too had I been in Ashton’s place. Baez is such a buffoon.

This time Ashton had his hand firmly over his mouth so there would be no problem again when Baez POINTED at Ashton and said “that guy laughing over there.” THAT is what I was referring to earlier when I commented that I believe Baez was whining to the judge right before court resumed KNOWING he was going to pull this stunt and THINKING the judge would believe him. I’ve personally seen lawyers like this in court before. Slimy.

Ashton had his hand over his mouth and was getting on his feet to object but the Judge JUMPED up and said sustained before Ashton could finish objecting. This is IMO nothing more than another sleazy tactic from Baez.
