What movie do you love that most people never heard of or seen? Mine is a movie called "Evenhand". I first saw it on IFC, then ordered a copy from Amazon. It is about two policemen in a small Texas town. One is meek and kind while the other is hard. They form a unlikley friendship. It is more plot driven, with little violence. The writing is pretty good.

Miracle Mile is fantastic! I also liked "By the Dawn's Early Light". One of the freakiest endings ever. "Hard Candy" was the most disturbing movie I've ever seen (it actually made me sick), but well done.
Love "Something Wild". Ray Liotta is perfect in that movie.

Fandango and
Creator Both are full of dripping sarcasm and all manor of good natured foolishness and lots of witty repartee'
I highly recommend both!

I have to watch "Oh Brother" at least once a year. The acting, scenery, directing, music, all...beautiful. Of course it is--it's Coen Bros.
And I'm a Fargo freak doncha know. ;-)
Sprinkle in a lil Joe Dirt every now and then....when I need my Kid Rock fix and Spade silliness. Dang.

Anything with Warren Oates or Harry Dean Stanton is good. “92 in the Shade” is one that has both, as does “White Line Fever”. I still get freaked out by “Race with the Devil” starring Peter Fonda.

Moon. Sam Rockwell was robbed of an Oscar. Excellent movie.
Absolutely agree. One of the best with a budget of only 3.5 million.
A couple others:
Citizen X
Empire of the Sun.

Agreed, great movie. IMO, Adrian Brody is one of the best contemporary actors out there.

Loved “The Ref” as well, but the cussing does hurt my ears.

but the brother had a cameo role in the movie. Zarko or John?

Frailty, starring Matthew McConaughey. Suspenseful and scary. It’s best if you don’t read what it’s about or the credits on IMDB and just rent it.

Mad Dog Time, aka Trigger Happy.
Richard Dreyfuss plays an insane Mafioso boss with stellar performances by Gabriel Byrne and Jeff Goldblum. Joey Bishop plays in this, his final movie performance, under the acting name of Mr. Gottlieb and Joey Bishop’s real name was Joseph Abraham Gottlieb,..go figure.
Dreyfuss telegraphs many allusions to Frank Sinatra in this interesting film, reportedly costing $8m to produce, but only grossed $80k. Go figure.

I'll see your Fallen, and raise you Fraility:
It's about a man who claims to have the ability to see the sins and evil people have commited , and he kills them, saying the sinners are in reality demons or demon possessed. And then one day he receives a message from God that his own son is possessed by demons...One of the creepiest films I've ever seen.

I saw bits and pieces of Slingblade...Came out at a time when life was busy. I like Billy Bob Thornton a lot and I am glad you brought that up...might be time to slow down and watch it....
