That's interesting. Our Walmart is the smallest size “super” that they build. Our town is only 3000 people but is the county seat, and the consolidated school has more students than the town population.
We live in the a designated poverty area. The best thing is we have no county zoning law's to speak of, and almost no restrictions on property in our subdivision. So far everyone ignores the violations anyhow.LOL.
The city has restrictions though, but so far no serious annexation threats.LOL.

I use Yippy as a search engine and here is several
Links to bulk seed sales. Enter at your own risk. My local feed store has cut back on their stock and selection of bulk vegetable seed due to the internet and catalog sales...

Thanks, Bert. We have some left over from building our daughters house, but I doubt if they are food grade, and by now they have all kinds of junk pressed into scratches and stuff. Even if cleaned up, I don’t know what kind of stuff might leech into the plants.

Well, I don’t get to do it as long as I want, but it is nice to be out of the rat race. I still babysit grandkids for 6-8 hours 4 days a week, so I can’t be an total couch potato LOL.

Thanks Tatze, I’ve downloaded the information and try a couple.

Thanks, Mr.Bender. I have always purchased online so that I could compare various varieties by looking at the pictures to see what suits my taste buds. My amaturish gardening efforts are miniscule compared to the Bender Estates, so my need for seed is small. I may buy some in bulk next year and help my buddy out a bit that has a large garden and gives us some of his overflow.

Everything is relevant rd. There are thousands of citizen living in high rises who “garden” in a couple of pots inside a window. My real vegie garden days are well behind me as Mrs Bender (2011) plants more and more annual flowers and she really brought things home to me when I was complaining about the author-rite-us in my thumbs and she said “for goodness sakes Tube, you’re going to be 80 in 2 more years”! I don’t think she even heard the gunshot....

What comes in the plastic containers used by your Deli? Pickles or sauerkraut.

Years ago, I obtained a couple of dill pickle buckets from our local cafe. I washed them, left bleach water in them for a couple of days, and scrubbed them with every cleaner known to mankind. The strong smell of dill pickles never left them. They would make anything you put in them smell or taste like dill pickles! Pretty funny.

Shame on you JaDblonde! Your tirade against pickle buckets effectively killed this informational thread depriving those of us still incarcerated in the Cuckoo’s Nest. (just kidding) We had over a inch of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday and we can see some pretty dramatic growth in everything especially the corn, potatoes and lettuce. The bad news is that about 60% of my Garlic is still in the ground and the damp soil can cause mold in the skin. I will dig it today and hang it in a fence to cure although I may put some in the greenhouse to speed it up. Another down side to the rain is the noise the weeds make as they re attack the garden...

LOL. My ill toward dill did seem to bring things to a screeching halt, didn't it?
Weeds growing after a rain do sound like a Sedan Deville coming back to life following a good flatening in a car crusher. I'm tickled to hear that some of your crops are growing. After a rain you can really tell that corn is a grass ... it grows faster than a lawn.

you can really tell that corn is a grass Now that is just the most depressing thing I have heard today! I will never look at corn with awe and wonderment again...

Okay Y'all, now I have just got to weigh in here. I don't know what kind of pickles were in your container, but back in the 1960’s I used to get all kinds of these containers from Granny's cafe.
I NEVER had a single one with such an odor. I never had to use bleach to clean them. I just washed them with soap and water, sometimes a little baking soda and let them “air” out for a week. Used them to store all kinds of stuff.
I still have one left that I use to store some baby clothes away for the grand kids to use with their dolls. So don't let JaDB’s experience stop you from checking out the pickle containers!LOL.

I wasn't trying to dissuade anyone from getting these containers ... was only recounting my experience.
The buckets that I got had contained dill pickle slices, just like you would get on any hamburger.
Don't know where those buckets went, but they still smelled of dill pickles the last time I saw them!
