In his speech tonight, Obama brought up Libya and how the U.S. must chart a course that is not isolationist, nor interventionist, but a middle course where our coalition partners (NATO) would be involved.
So if we together with our NATO partners are involved it isn't interventionism? How so? Has Obama explained how Libya was a threat to our national security? If we must respond to other NATO partners request for military assistance, has the president explained how Libya threatened any of our NATO partners national securitty?
It is reported that before this war broke out that we were getting involved because Ghadifi planned to massacre civilians, but it was also reported that Ghadifi had planned to nationalize the oil resources in Libya and that most of Libya's oil went to one European nation in particular.
“With the big screw up in Libya and now Afghanistan, I am surprised that we havent had at least one high profile resignation by a general. Is it just politics for them too?”
Looks like they are playing Politics as well,This Communist Bastard really screwed up the country.
I’m no Ron Paul fan but the fact is the only coherence coming out of Washington on these wars comes from him at this point.
I won’t even attempt to paraphrase the Obo’s razzle dazzle on Afghanistan tonight except to note it was all about him being re-elected—which everyone here knows.
No one ever defines what “victory” in Afghanistan would be, and tonight the Obo proposed not victory at all but a “responsible” withdrawal. What is that? Candidate Oblowhard pushed for more attention to Afghanistan and less to Iraq—but never said anything about seeking a “responsible” finish. “Hope, change and responsibility in Afghanistan!”
On the other hand, there are the pro-Petraeus neo-con types who say if we just stay two more years then, um, well, um...
I heard a half-dozen say we needed to get control of “eastern Afghnaistan” but Obo didn’t deploy enough troops to go there. OK. Then let’s just nuke eastern Afghanistan off the face of the earth. Nuke it. After all, who would miss it? And if it’s SO VERY IMPORTANT....
And when you’re fighting to win wouldn’t your best stuff be the way to go?? And aren’t nukes our best stuff?
And if we’re not fighting to win why are we fighting?
Like I said, I don’t really like Ron Paul but...
When?
Bet it was over 40 minutes.
He failed...... He lied and double-talked.... He surrendered..... Conservative Republicans need to expose this fragile, thin veil of a presidential image, held in place by a teleprompter and the piss-stream media. Hopefully Zer0's massive incompetence will move more to vote against him in 2012. We'll see. |
My idea to fix Afghanistan is simple go to every single cave opening in the eastern mountains stick a large bomb in them and close them up. Then you only need to cover the foot paths through the mountains and the war is over much quicker.
