Peeled away at 52 mph?
ROFLMAO! Yeah, I bet this puerile, twit, has never been in a vehicle that "reallly" peeled away and would not recognize a "peel" from a "peal" if it bit her on her posterior.
As someone who grew up in the age of the muscle cars, I can attest to what a "peel" is and even in my best days, and my hottest "iron" (my 1967 GTO)--though it was possible to get a "chirp" when shifting to 2nd gear at that speed--it was/is a rare vehicle that can "lay a strip" (aka "peeled away") at 52 per.
I realize it is simply poor reporting and application of English, but it is fun to turn the tables on these phony, "Jorn-0-Lists!"
Now what I'd pay good money to see, would be that big ol' Motor Home laying a nice strip. lol
Oh Yes, the sound of the chirp, as the muscle car was shifted in yet another gear.
I was a VW driver in '67, when on a road trip with my classmate from flight school. He had a Chevy II with 396 4 speed. He let me drive as he got tired.
I only knew one way to shift (VW style) Clutch in, throttle out, clutch out, throttle in. It was a little wet, but I'm sure I "chirped" in all four gears that night, and I wasn't even trying.
That was my first thought when I read that comment! I could see a little car doing that, but that big old honking bus?
