It should be obvious to everyone that RINOs have little in common with Freepers. To come on this forum hoping to get Freepers to buy the old "well, it's either the RINO or Obama", and insinuate that we will be responsible for an Obama win if we don't support your RINO, well, free speech just won't stretch that far!

If we get stuck with no other choice I don't doubt that some Freepers will hold their noses and vote for the RINO, but, promising to do so while we still have options and hope is foolish and counterproductive.

If I may, nothing that you mentioned is new. This site has always drawn a line on Conservative issues. The path of this site isn't to debate merits of liberalism any more than eGullet.com is around to discuss the merits of starvation. Members know this and they do choose to fund the site. We are all the customers of the site and it seems the customers are saying that they still like the product offered as they continue to help the site meet its goals. Sometimes there is ebbs and flows in how long it takes, probably mostly economic driven, but the customers are still buying the product. So, in essence, you are right, this site is by the members for the members, BUT it seems the members are saying they like the direction the captain is steering the ship.

I financially support and advocate on behalf of Free Republic because it is the best Conservative site on the world wide web. I also endorse the public policy positions espoused by owner Jim Robinson because they reflect my own... Apparently you missed that this is an activist, grassroots site. The POINT is to get conservatives elected, not Rinos. Supporting and discussing Rinos gets us exactly what we have now.
