Back when I was young, we didn’t have stereos. No, we had rocks. And when we wanted entertainment, we banged ‘em together rhythmically; and a few of us, the talented ones, grunted in time. That was how opera got started....

I wondered what the Mexicans were doing while we were building the space station.

The pictured rock carvings are mostly relatively recent - an Islamic (?) crecent moon, Sir George and the dragon and a Christian church.

The corridors and chambers under the Great Sphinx are pretty spacious, they needed a lot of illumination. ;’)

" Some researchers connect the "spiral motifs to some astronomical or astrological forms," Karberg said, but he thinks it might have more to do with math. "The regularity of the spiral might be one of the earliest mathematical ideas the people developed."

Early American Indians used a spiral design to illustrate a long, wandering journey.

More likely: People assumed early American Indians used a spiral design to illustrate a long wandering journey. Not likely, since a spiral is anything but wandering. And when you have exactly the same pictographs occurring in the tens of millions all over the earth regardless of race/linguistic background and these pictographs happen to be foreshortened in a way that corresponds exactly to latitude, then we're dealing with something that arose from a common experience and that is celestial in nature.

It says to me: “They went thata way”.

Gotta be careful what you draw on rocks. Could be confusing down the road.

...reveal scenes that scientists can't explain.

And yet, explain them they did. The "St. George" explanation struck me as particularly explanatory.

The crescent or star and crescent motif is a common depiction of the mythological “ship of heaven” and is echoed as crescent horns, up stretched arms, twin mountain peaks, or a crescent at the top of a staff as seen in many Babylonian cylinder seals. A crescent is often found under the “wheel of Saturn” and sun wheel atop a holy mountain or axis mundi world pillar. This is discussed in “Hamlet’s Mill”. It is also depicted as underfoot of many female deities such as Venus, Astarte, Inanna and even on occasion under the Virgin Mary. Many rock art depictions show a series of crescents in the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o:clock position as though it were rotating.
