This image shows the first, unprocessed image obtained by NASA's Dawn spacecraft of the giant asteroid Vesta in front of a background of stars. It was obtained by Dawn's framing camera on May 3, 2011, from a distance of about 750,000 miles (1.2 million kilometers). CREDIT: NASA/JPL-Caltech/UCLA/MPS/DLR/IDA

I thought Ceres was the biggest one but it got a promotion to that vague category that includes Pluto.

‘How many of the people sig226 was quarreling with are still here?’
The original poster of that thread, who was supporting Gun Owners of America against the NRA, and who sig226 was arguing against has been zotted. Strange that he resigned over a banglist type thread regarding political strategy, rather than a creationist one.

Beats me, I have to admit that I kind of ignore a lot of nicknames if they are annoying/irritating/nasty. Unless they are so nasty that I want to avoid them.

It doesn’t look like asteroids in the movies.

If you open the image with MS-Paint, then save it as a PDF, then examine the layers using OCR technology, pixel analysis, and ultraviolet lamp imaging, the right side of the picture is the Soetoro long form afterbirth certificate, and on the left is the un-released image of UBL’s face blown half off. It’s a conspiracy concocted by WikiLeaks and Area 51.

I thought Ceres was the biggest one but it got a promotion to that vague category that includes Pluto. Ceres was imaged by Hubble and is spherical like a planet. Ceres' appearance was one of the main reasons that Pluto was downgraded to a dwarf planet. Ceres and Pluto are now in the same category.

So Ceres was in on the conspiracy.

The IAU 2006 draft proposal on the definition of a planet listed Vesta as a candidate. From wikipedia.
I still ain't happy they demoted Pluto.

You should read “How I killed Pluto and why it had it coming” by Mike Brown. Great book!
He was the guy who found Quaoar, Sedna, Eris, Makemake, and Haumea.
All will be explained.
He was right, but, explains why the IAU was wrong in their methods.
Too bad Vesta is on the other side of the Sun. It’s pretty easy to find in a small scope.

It’s nothing like an Ipod, it’s Astronomy Picture of the Day (from NASA) and it’s AWESOME! :)
