Bristol Palin says she had corrective jaw surgery

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Bristol Palin admits her recent change in appearance was due to a procedure - but not plastic surgery.

The 20-year-old daughter of 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin tells Us Weekly that she underwent corrective jaw surgery in December, a month after she finished third on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Her face now appears thinner, with higher cheekbones and an angular jaw.

The new look, complete with Palin losing 5 pounds, was unveiled April 30 at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C.

"Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons," she told the magazine for its May 23 issue, which will be on newsstands Friday.

Palin said she had the procedure so her jaw and teeth could properly realign.

Who cares? She’s a dumb 19-20 year old kid of no real significance to anyone outside her immediate family. Why woudl anyone give a rat’s patootie what kind of ‘corrective’ surgery she’s ahd done?

To me, it is none of my business what she decides to do including plastic surgery. I think it is odd that plastic surgery patients always claim “medical necessity” though. If something really bothers you about your body then have it fixed. So what?

If you don’t have a good bite it is medically good. A bad bite will plague you all your life.

She went from no chin to a pointy uglier chin.

It also appears they cleared out some of the double chin fat.

5lbs? Wow!!!! That must have been the fat under her double chin.

Actually this is is a real medical procedure and can be necessary in some cases:

People who may benefit from corrective jaw surgery include those with an improper bite resulting from misaligned teeth and/or jaws. In some cases, the upper and lower jaws may grow at different rates. Injuries and birth defects may also affect jaw alignment. While orthodontics can usually correct bite, or “occlusion,” problems when only the teeth are misaligned, corrective jaw surgery may be necessary to correct misalignment of the jaws.

Some advice for the future; next time do some research before you decide to flap your gums about something you know nothing about.

“It is medically necessary. When the bite isn’t aligned right a person can end up with TMJ to the point of arthritis and massive migraines.”

My ex had to have the same surgery. She ended up with TMJ before the procedure. Once completed she was totally normal and pain free except for being married to me. Years latter we fixed that problem too.

Because it is fun getting under the Palinistas skins knowing this puts them in a spin.

Well, unfortunately FR has recently been infested with know-it-all's who make smartass comments from behind the safety of their keyboard, knowing they would most likely get their bell rung by treating someone this way in person. FR is just a little fantasy land where they can pretend they are tough and relevant.
