As with others here, I have lost considerable weight on a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet. I don't think that is specifically at issue in this research.

I think you have to find whatever therapy works best for you. There doesn’t seem to be any that works for everyone. I have to watch my fat intake because of other health issues, but I know some diabetics who follow a higher fat diet. One told me that I should drink coconut oil every day. If I did that, it would probably kill me. But to each his own.

Whatever I’m doing must be ok for me because my A1Cs have been well below 6 and I usually have good blood glucose readings now. If you are doing fine with the regimen you have, don’t change it.

This article makes sense to me. After I'd been diagnosed and went on medication, I slowly gained weight over a period of several years, to the point where I had to sit down with my doctor to pinpoint the problem, and lo and behold, it turned out that later clinical studies of the drug I was on showed weight gain in a fairly significant percentage of patients. Once he put me on a prescription weight loss med in conjunction with exercise and a re-tuned diet, my weight decreased 20% and I no longer needed to take the diabetes drug. In my case, it kicked off a vicious cycle where the treatment, in it's own way, was exacerbating the problem.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
