Typically, I gather that people who go on a high carb, low- or no-fat diet not only foul up their blood chemistry, but are at risk of developing a fatty liver and other problems.
Switching over to a high fat, high protein, and almost no-carb diet will often normalize their blood, especially if they take large amounts of Omega-3 fish oil, and reverse a fatty liver by incorporating Vitamin E. They can lose weight fairly rapidly on such a diet as well, as carbs are essential to produce and maintain body fat.
But this takes it a step further, by so emphasizing fats that normal metabolism is turned on its head.
In Europe, it is now standard practice for diabetics to take Vitamin B-1 supplements, because much of their renal (kidney) distress has been associated with the loss of B-1 due to excessive urination.
I’ll add that they also recommend that diabetics take R-Alpha Lipoic Acid (OTC) to stave off neuropathy in their extremities, nerve damage in their feet. (Note: specifically R-ALA, as just ALA also contains L-ALA, which can prevent the effect of the R-ALA).
Dr. Valerie Saxon did a whole show on this, some folks lowered chronic high blood pressure just by drinking more good clean water, who knew. Give your kidneys a break , lube'um up.
I sometimes get a gallon of distilled from world wreckin' Wall Mart.
You gotta do what you gotta do to get hydrated, it's gotta taste good to get enough down.
I also have a Zero Water filter pitcher, filters cost $15 but it's really good tasting zero total solids water.
Gee, now I want some, I got thirsty jus' thinkin' about it.
You have pretty much described what I have done and successfully lost weight, sleep through the entire night, eliminate or strongly reduce night time heart burn, cholesterol/tryglicerides all in the green
I take statin and Niaspan but the real changes began when I begin to reduce carbs and eat more fats. I have gradually added some carbs back. My blood fasting sugar stays in the normal range and would never do that before
I just burned off 16 pounds in three weeks doing Atkins, getting ready to go to France next week. There’ll be no dieting in France, of course, but when we come back I’ll get back on it. It’s nice to see a number starting with “1” on the scale.
