What is the Energy Catalyzer?
It is a "Cold Fusion" device developed by Italian engineer and inventor Andrea Rossi. It produces heat by placing nickel powder of very small particle size (nano-meters to micro-meters) in a pressurized hydrogen environment along with currently undisclosed (for proprietary reasons) catalysts that enhance the reaction. When this environment is heated to approximately 450 - 500 C, a nuclear reaction starts taking place. This reaction releases a large amount of energy while consuming very little hydrogen and nickel powder.
How much energy does this system produce?
There is currently only one model of reactor that has been disclosed. It is designed to produce 10 kW of continuous thermal energy in the form of heated water or steam. However, this is not the upper limit of the energy the system can produce. It can be throttled up to 130 kW or higher, but that is avoided except during experimentation for safety reasons.
What proof do we have this technology works as claimed?
Andrea Rossi has used one of these devices to continually heat one of his factories for two years. In addition, recent publicized tests performed by third party scientists at the University of Bologna have verified that the output is far beyond any chemical reaction possible, that there are no hidden external sources of energy feeding the reactor, and that the output far exceeds the energy input. In one test, the device self sustained with no input for a period of time before the short experiment was ended. Another experiment allowed the reactor to run for 18 hours producing a constant average output of 15 kW utilizing only an average of 80 watts of input. Successful tests such as these have impressed scientists and have inspired the one year research program at the University of Bologna .

There are some patents issued on the subject of zero-point
energy. I exchanged emails with the author of 1 patent who acknowledge an error (there was a flaw in the scientific reasoning) on his part and regretted the cost of pursuing the patent.
Then we would be already celebrating the arrival of Cold Fusion, ah?
You have found something I didn’t find, I couldn’t find a single scientist that called what they are doing cold fusion.

Hopefully it isn’t another person like Rossi that claims to be an engineer that got his diploma for 50 bucks.
You got me, I thought this was the same article someone sent me above.
This was for the same researchers that we have discussed on this thread. It doesn’t have any relation to these guys and the scientists have come out describing their reaction as not fusion and more like fission.
Is your premise that Rossi is duplicating their experiment with Nickel?
I would be willing to consider this if Rossi wasn’t so adamant that no one can even take radiation readings.
Rossi, with zero engineering experience, only scams under his belt, no physics, been to prison, a diploma mill, .....etc
If he was open to independent verification without limitation that would allow complete validation of the input and output of the device including the entire electro magnetic spectrum, even I would want to read that report and would allow for the chance that the guy had actually done it.
From this information, you would only know the true performance of the device and that indeed a nuclear reaction was going on. It wouldn’t help you reverse engineer it.
If he is so confident and he doesn’t need anyone’s money, why does he even bother to show it or write press releases regarding it? In you brain, you know what the answer is.

Why is the Surface of the Sun at several thousand degrees and the atmosphere above it at several million degrees. According to physics, this makes no sense.
Radiative transfer of heat is not as efficient as convection. That is the same reason our upper atmosphere is hotter. There is no violation of physics except possibly in your understanding.

Because I don’t believe in fairies and people that say they created a new kind of physics that involve nuclear reactions that he won’t provide any proof for.
