2011 Masters: My Picks for the Top Ten (in no particular order,... although I like Luke Donald or Westwood to win.)
Matt Kuchar
Phil Mickelson
Justin Rose
Luke Donald
Dustin Johnson
Ian Poulter
Hunter Mahan
Adam Scott
Lee Westwood
Ben Crane
I like Phil. He seems to raise his game for Augusta. If not Phil, I will go far out on a limb here and say whoever it is, it will be a first-time major winner. What’s that leave, forty or fifty players? Kuchar is another one who usually plays well at Augusta.
Freddie make the cut yes. But competing over four rounds at his age, even though Augusta and Freddie are a match made in heaven? No. He shoulda won it in 1998! (Took a double-bogey on 13 on Sunday and lost by one shot to Mark O'Meara).
Very classy, especially when considering that Seve was not exactly that popular among his fellow pros.
Unfortunately, I think Ernie's window for winning The Master's - and majors in general - has closed. I would qualify that with this year's US Open at Congressional, where he won in 1997.
It... is... only... a... MOVIE!
Thanks for the Ping!
Looking forward to the Masters.
I’d like to see Phil win his fourth green jacket.
I know a couple of professional sports photographers who would take issue with that "always been" part.... They say, he used to be a real jackass... but, changed for the better when he got married.
Not really an uncommon story for a LOT of men, I suppose. ;-)
I can’t wait for the replay of Jack’s ‘86 win... one for the ages.
Sadly, I missed the first part of that day.. had to go with my young wife to her Aunt’s 90th birthday party. I had set the VCR machine before we left. But, when I opened the door to our house, I saw SNOW on the TV... I FREAKED!!
When I got to the right channel, Jack was standing in the fairway at 15, getting ready to start the ROARS!
Little did I know.. four months later, I moved to Augusta. Lived there for two years and loved it. Even before that, it was my FAVORITE tournament... it’s really special to me now.
And now, I can PLAY AUGUSTA NATIONAL on my PS3!!!
FINALLY!! :-)
I think Mickelson could win again, provided he doesn’t resort to over-using the driver club again (the bane of Mickelson at several US Opens).

I’d love to see Tom Watson shoot under par again. ....like last year.
The winner will be Mickelson. ....like last year.
No, not in the slightest. You see, BFC isn't a comedy.
Comedy -- try it sometime.
Actor Bill Murray takes a golf club to plants along the country club walkway and gets belly laughs... I don't get it.
Not necessarily. Quite often less "sophisticated" comedies are total dogs at the box office. It's just that Caddyshack was a particularly good one. Eldrick Woods' favorite film of all time, in fact. And a lot of other golfers who have a great deal of respect for the game love it as well. Just slapstick fun. I suspect it was cathartic viewing for Woods after his quite serious golfing childhood.
Maybe the turd in the swimming pool was a prophetic metaphor for his domestic life.
lol....good call.
Btw, I wasn’t recommending the film. We all have different tastes, and I suspect you’ve seen enough of the film to know it doesn’t suit yours. And honestly, I really have to be in the mood for it myself — I found it a lot funnier at 16 (when it first was released) than I do now, that’s for sure.
Anyway, back to the Masters. How about Goosen’s eagle on the 1st? And it appears he’s riding that momentum nicely on the front nine.
.....that was before Amen Corner kicked his butt. Bogeys on 11 and 12.
Now young Rory has the lead at -5.
Let’s not forget Rory did the same thing to open last year’s Masters, then promptly shot 17 strokes higher on Friday.
I don’t see history repeating itself again, though. Great start by Rors again!!
