Yeah. See, rock isn’t my kind of musis (it’s OK, I just like other stuff better) and I’d like to hear a Pia concert. I thought she might win. But I don’t think she’d burn down the house the way you’d like her to. I can see that.

Maybe but she was boring as hell. Would you really sit threw a two hour concert of her's?

I wouldn't sit through a two-hour concert of any American Idol contestant from any year.

I also wouldn't sit through a Beyonce show, a Celine Dion show, a Mariah Carey show, a Carrie Underwood show, A Black-Eyed Peas show, a Lady Antebellum show or a Lone Star show.

Are you really comparing Pia Toscano to Thia Megia?

Really?

Well, I don’t know about you all, but I think this thread could use some prayer. This thread has always been a nice respite from the heavy, heavy issues of our day to day lives.

Because, let’s be honest, this thread is 25% AI and 75% us trying to crack each other up, this prayer has always made me think of this thread. I’ve posted it before a couple of seasons ago.

The Clown’s Prayer
As I stumble through this life,
help me to create more laughter than tears,
dispense more cheer than gloom,
spread more cheer than despair.

Never let me become so indifferent,
that I will fail to see the wonders in the eyes of a child,
or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people
make them happy, and forget momentarily,
all the unpleasantness in their lives.

And in my final moment,
may I hear You whisper:
“When you made My people smile,
you made Me smile.”

” My rankings based on last night’s performances:

1. Haley
2. Lauren
3. Scotty “

Cpl. Respect your opinion, but think Haley will go tonight.

‘American Idol’: Pia Toscano Supports Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina

http://celebs.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979343895

The top three performed in this season of American Idol on Wednesday night, and one eliminated contestant was very quick to offer her support. Following the Idol broadcast, Pia Toscano went to her Twitter to lend her support and praise to two of the final three remaining in the competition this season.

Who did Pia Toscano give shout outs via her Twitter? The chosen were Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina. She didn’t say a word about or to Haley Reinhart. There had been rumors that both Haley and Pia were dating Stefano Langone earlier on in the season. At different times, but could there be bad blood there?

What did Pia say to Scotty following his performance: “baby lock them doors..... So good to see you tonight showmance!!! So proud of you :).” Pia sent much praise towards Lauren Alaina as well: “you are gorgeous and stunning and i adore you! I am so proud of you! Love you with all my heart!”

retro, a few weeks back you posted a link about one of the idols not being liked so well by the others. Do you suppose....

Carrie Underwood Surpasses Kelly Clarkson as Idol’s Biggest Earner

As of May 16, Underwood’s album sales topped 12,296,000 and she’s moved more than 18,482,000 digital tracks since winning season 4.

Simon Cowell predicted it during season 4 and in 2011 it came true — Carrie Underwood is now officially American Idol’s top earner, surpassing season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson.

In the new issue of the Hollywood Reporter, which features a 21-page package celebrating Idol’s tenth anniversary, THR breaks down the show’s most successful graduates. Last year, Clarkson reigned supreme on Billboard’s Top 24 Idols tally, with 10,600,000 albums and 15,900,000 digital tracks sold since 2002. As of May 16, Underwood’s album sales topped 12,296,000 and she’s moved more than 18,482,000 digital tracks since winning season 4. (Sales data provided by Nielsen SoundScan.)

Underwood has also spent a healthy chunk of the last two years on the road, most recently with the 115-plus-date Play On tour, and while Clarkson’s international presence is stronger than Underwood’s, who plays mostly to U.S. and Canadian audiences, she’s devoted much of 2010 and 2011 to working on her as yet unreleased fifth album — or spending rather than earning. To compare, Clarkson’s tour revenues since her win hover around $32,000,000, according to Billboard BoxScore, while Underwood has pulled in twice that amount since 2006, or north of $66,000,000.

Further cementing Underwood’s place at the top of the Idol heap is her recent foray into film. Underwood was cast for a supporting role in April’s Soul Surfer, which grossed $39.5 million at the box office, and has also scored guest spots on popular sitcoms like CBS’ How I Met Your Mother.

The auditions for The Voice were kind of neat, but the battle rounds to me are kind of meh. Waiting to see how they handle the finals.

What did you think of Scotty’s first song?

Alas, I missed it on account of being out for chow with the girl friends. Will probably miss most of tonight on account of going out for Brazilian BBQ. Am looking forward to getting home and getting back to my regularly scheduled schedule.

We could do without the 3:30am drunken stupor posts, threatening lawsuit posts!

Is that what that was all about? Because it all made my brain glaze over.

The best singer this year was Pia Toscano.

I agree 100%. She is also the most marketable and had the best voice. However, I wouldn't go to one of her concerts because I'm not into that kind of music. I like Rock. That said I wouldn't go to a James Durban concert either, he's a great kid but not my kind of Rocker. If I were to go to a concert it would be Haley's. She has the most unique voice of them all and well suited for the kind of Rock I listen to. Lauren is more fun to watch than Scotty but Country is not my cup of tea, it's surprising how many Country fans are on this thread since they never really came out like this in years past.

It should have been:

Pia
Haley
Lauren
Scotty
James

in that order.

Scotty will probably win.

I realize that. More power to him.

I prefer Lauren Alaina myself.
